Question about recruiting championships

For those who have more inside info than I do…just speculating here … does this seem like how things may go down many times in recruiting?
1. High school football player is dominating and word gets out he’s BCS material and offers start going out just based on videos, phone conversations the college coaches have with the player and his coaches.
2. The stars start to mount and his ranking starts to climb the charts
3. As time continues to roll on, staffs continue their evaluations
4. Staff uncovers some potential attitude and/or behavioral problems and the love from the program to the recruit starts to dwindle but they don’t officially “withdraw” their “offer”
5. Recruit starts to gravitate to the school that continues to show the love as opposed to the others whose love seems to have wandered to other players
6. Some schools end up with tons of stars loaded with other BCS “offers” on signing day but are flooded with attitudes and what not that make it difficult for ANY coach to put together any type of team cohesion.
Another question:…does anybody know if there was any validity to the rumor once posted here on the Pack that there was a confrontation with some alums and Nutt on why he isn’t getting more players with better character, work ethic and attitude?

like Tangerie and crocs. But nice try at guessing what "preppy people" wear.

Real question though, what is the deal with caring if Tobias has Manning in his name? I don't know if y'all think that's why we got him or what, but it does seem important since everytime his name is mentioned you throw that in there. Also Tobias beat up his gf? Wouldn't he get in trouble for that? Surely there's a conviction out there of such a crime, or are the bears so powerful we can hide crimes for our players?

Edit: And yes Brassell is a grade risk, but he's extememly talented. Our staff felt like his risk was worth it kind of like your staff though Nick James was worth the risk. BTW our staff wasn't the only ones that thought the risk was worth the reward seeing as Saban visited him a week before signing day. So is your point that Brassell and Tobias would be bulldogs if Mullen wanted them? If not what's your point in bringing them up if in fact Mullen did want them

I don't think it gets mentioned because we think it's any indication of wrongdoing, I just think it's brought up because it's ridiculous.

Is all you do ramble on and ask rhetorical questions? And are are you SERIOUSLY comparing Nick James to Brassel1? Not saying they won't be comparible but let's lets at least give Nick the benefit of the doubt AND the chance to screw up 5 times (or WHATEVER chance "Snoops" on) and never go to class AND break NCAA rules with DJ parties first.....and THEN we will compare "RISKS"...<div>
</div><div>and as a parting shot- name me on recruit that has chosen Ole Miss over State since Dan's been here, that has come back to bite us??? My opinion, if they actually CHOOSE Ole Miss....we DIDN'T want them, even if we initially did..... and for the last time- lose Frank dude!</div>

How exactly are they suppose to bite you in the *** when the very first full class Mullen recruited are going into their junior year? Were they suppose to win the egg bowl with Nutt coach as freshmen and sophomores? Surely you don't have such blind faith in Mullen that you assume everyone we get is someone Mullen didn't want because that's exactly what you just said

a flyer on like that dtackle w/ the yellow dye in his hair you got last year. i think there is some truth to your hypothesis though. an example of that would be nutt's second class. He was getting almost no commits and then very late in the game recruits from out of state that are highly rated start "swimming to the boat." those same guys ended up leaving in droves. i think they start getting slow played as other classes filled up and nutt was desperate at the end and took all commits he could get. the guy was lazy his first two classes and that's why we suck right now. you just can't coach in this state and not recruit your *** off every year. i liked nutt's last two classes and freeze is doing well right now. your theory is more likely to be recognizable late in recruiting season.

Vincent Sanders and Carlos Thompson were 2 notables that we wanted and missed at NSD. We also got Eulls, Robinson, and Robert Johnson that they wanted that year. Of these, obviously Eulls has had the biggest career thusfar. The '10 class was pretty close to a wash, IMO...although theirs was ranked alot higher.

They cleaned our clocks in the '11 class though. No denying that.

Bad choice of words on may part. "Didn't want anyway" is speaking strictly in hindsight....Meaning, you guys haven't landed a recruit over us, in-state, that has proven to be the "one that got away" so to speak...that was my whole point.

what would've happened with Brassell had he come to State. He definitely wouldn't have been allowed to skip class and fail out.

Mullen has done a great job thusfar of getting character risks to buy into his program, keeping their heads down and working hard. Brassell was no larger character risk than we're taking with Quay and big Nick...

I don't necessarily agree because Brassell seemed bound and determined to flunk out, but I think you're right about Mullen getting kids to buy in. I also think you're right about Brassell being no bigger character risk than Quay or James. The payoff may be as big with Quay as the payoff with Brassell too. If Mullen can keep him in line he's going to be a bad ***.

guess what "you people" wear is like trying to guess what kind of bird **** is on the sidewalk. Does it really mattereither way? Itmeant your douchebaggery has no boundaries.

I bet your the kind of guy that runs his mouth in a bar then lets his friend fight while you ease out the side door huh?

diatribe, diatribe, diatribe

Brassell turns out to be above said unknown bird poop, a one year flash in pan. Yeah I think toby mangleton beat his gf's *** with his family posse. The point is you were smarting offabout Nick James who reallyhas just started hiscareer and has not yet been in trouble. Don't throw rocks if you live in the glass house. Brassell is done...a wasted scholly. And well Toby well lets just saywe're not too worried about toby. Nopemullen/we wanted them but turns out theteam without them maybe better off.

I don't want anything to do with State fans that talk like this. The insecurity is unbelievable on this board sometimes. <div>
