Question about the slim possibility of us going to the Chick-fil-A

It was already talked about in a thread yesterday which got me looking for the rules, but I can't seem to find it. Coach had said something about the Chick-fil-A bowl having a "no repeat games" policy for their selections, but I can't seem to find any mention of that anywhere.

Does anyone have a link to the rules on that? If that's the case, then South Carolina will be my second favorite team this week.

I don't know about a written rule on it, but will they want to repeat with Clemson? It would basically be a do over of the previous game.

But hey... I'm warming up to going back to Jacksonville and beating up on another B1G team.

Me too, but I wouldn't put it past them to select both teams if there wasn't a written rule in place. Plus, I'd much rather play Clemson instead of (what looks to be) Northwestern.

Yes, I agree. Northwestern has a good team, but not the football name that Clemson has. And last time we played Clemson in the Peach we won in a great game.

Exactly. Even though it's still a good bowl game, I'd much rather take on a team that has more to lose than another team fighting for respect.

It's not a written rule- just common sense. They won't rematch because it's the last game of the season. Had it been a week 2 game- then maybe they let them go at it again. If SC beats Clemson, Clemson goes to Peach and SC heads to the Gator Bowl. You can count on it

Think I'll quote Gary Danielson in saying, "You just can't use logic!" It makes sense, but I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting burned.

But, if SC beats Clemson and we lose to Ole Miss, SC has to go to the Peach or Outback Bowl per SEC rules.

We have to beat Ole Miss and SC has to beat Clemson. In that scenario, I think we play Clemson in the Peach. In any other combination of things, we play a the Michigan State/Minnesota winner in Jacksonville.

Even if Florida loses to FSU, the chances of that happening are extremely slim. I don't see any scenario where the Outback would pick South Carolina over Florida.

I agree South Carolina won't go to the Peach to rematch with Clemson, but it's a tossup of whether they'll go up to the Outback or down to the Gator.
