Question for Otnorot

You seem very knowledgeable with the Class 6 basketball teams.

Do you have any idea why the state tournament - for Class 6 ONLY - mixes up the pairings at the state level?

Personally, I like it...

Unfortunately, none of the other 5 classifications do it that way come state play.

In 2020 classes 3-6 all cross-bracketed the semis in basketball. Then COVID came and they seemed to forget about it. I think the VHSL now leaves it up to the classes to decide and Class 6 was the only class that decided to cross-bracket. With three of the four regions in Northern Virginia it doesn't have much effect on the amount of travel so IMO it's a no-brainer.
