Question for the board - What would you do? Important question.

Trump has promised to round up the roughly 2,000,000 felon illegal aliens and deport them. He has promised deport those already in prison when their sentences end. It seems that most on this board agree with that policy, certainly most Americans agree.

The question is, how does he do it? As I see the options, they include:

1. Expand ICE greatly to round up criminal aliens starting in big cities and with the gangs. They are the most dangerous. Work with local law enforcement to the extent they will help. (Sanctuary cities will be a big problem).
2. Expand ICE so that when a felon alien is arrested, starting in big cities, ICE can take immediate control. Don't wait on the local police to notify ICE since many sanctuary cities won't do that.
3. Use the national guard to back up ICE in the round up, starting in big cities and with gangs.
4. Take a softer approach. Give the illegal aliens a year to register/apply for a green card. If they meet certain criteria (have a job, no felony record, won't use our social safety net, pay a fine, no pathway to citizenship, etc.), give them a green card. After that year, any illegal arrested is subject to immediate deportation. Station ICE agents starting in big cities to take control upon these arrests.

Deflection again. To arrest gang bangers you need evidence for a court. No such evidence is needed for this. Just a criminal record. Other felons were in jail and now out of jail, roaming the streets.

Are you afraid to answer? Of do you not have a clue what to do?

#4 as modified plus 4A. ICE to round up criminal aliens starting in big cities and with the gangs. They are the most dangerous. Work with local law enforcement so that when a felon alien is arrested ICE can take immediate control.

Items 1 & 2 - Good ideas, but must tailor, the duties and jurisdiction of ICE to align with those allowed for the FBI.

Item 3 - The National Guard approach won't work unless the Governor allows it or the POTUS calls the NG to active duty. All State Adjutants General are State employees and are not included in the callup. The called up National Guard personnel are accessed into the Military where they are prevented from acting via The Posse Comitatus Act. I believe the only way around that would be Martial Law.

Item 4 - Completely disagree, deport them. If we allow them to stay they will revert to their old patterns.

I think they should start in Chicago,can't hurt much, remove all illegal aliens in gangs asap ! Then any illegal aliens who has committed a felony or multiple misdemeanor. Don't know how or if this would slow the death rate but it couldn't hurt
