I just glanced at their site and they kept talking about how they don't need another "Egg Bowl".
If that's the case, then they should be relieved about the USM/MSU game. Our game with them is likely to garner a great deal more national attention, and will likely be televised by ESPN, unlike the Egg Bowl, which ESPN dropped because it was one of their lowest rated games.
If I remember correctly, they even had to move the Egg Bowl from Thanksgiving day so that one of the SEC's television contracts would pick it up.
As far as Mississippi State is concerned, this game might be a new chance for them to actually get national exposure.
