After reading Mullen's quotes in Marcello's blog I was wondering what people think is the right time to have a bye week in a season.
Is it better to have a bye week early or late in a season? And is it better to have a bye week before a big time opponent or a small opponent? Should they come after a crucial road stretch or should they come after a long home stretch to give the athletes as well as the fan base a rest?
This is the second year in a row we have gotten stomped after a bye week and yes it is Alabama and yes this year's bye week had a lot of things occur that was highly unexpected and tough to deal with but is there a way to plan a good time for a bye week? We looked unprepared again this year and after reading Mullen's quotes I would like to hear what others have to say on the matter.

"Having a bye week doesn’t always help you,” Mullen said Sunday. “I think
it can hurt you in a lot of ways and we got to see that last night. Now
we’re back in our game-week routine. Hopefully that helps to keep us
focused and each day goes, our guys will get a little bit stronger with
dealing with the emotions we’ve had to deal with.”
