Those are the Adidas uniforms honoring Black History Month. Several of the adidas schools have already worn them, so I figure we will wear them at some point during the month.

With our history of copying Texas A$M uniforms, and us both wearing Adidas, would mean those are already hanging in our locker room.

I read an article about it. It has a Mississippi connection so it’s kind of cool. I’ll post the link.

Yeah, it’s kind of cool and there is a historical background with the quilting but the linkage with basketball just ain’t there.

Lazy marketing by Adidas.

Just slap a purple WHO DAT on white jerseys with maroon trim to honor Alcorn whose Braves conquered us in the NIT in ‘79 and I’d think we’d be good. **

No clue what the inspiration is aside from black history month in general but I'd bet a case of juicy jumbos that a white lady designed them.

Lucia Harris, I get it now. Also, is this the Hump?

Certainly looks like it. Drop ceiling, rubber floor with full wall, 360 interior walk way, spotlight booth in the corner and what might be our one 1963 NCAA banner at the time. Appears to be DSU v MC, no clue why they were playing here. Maybe some in state tournament.🤷‍♂️

That photo is mid-late 70’s

NCAA womens championships didnt begin until 82+/-. Before that it was AIAW for ladies hoops. Delta State won the national championship 757677.

There was a state AIAW tourney each year that included most schools. I assume this photo was from that.

It's been discussed here before, but the documentary mentioned in the article is pretty good.

UniWatch article discussing the "Adidas Caste System", which reported Adidas has a better quality materials and access for 6 of its football members. This information, obtained through an anonymous Adidas exec, confirmed 2 of the "top-tier" programs were Washington and Texas A&M. The Adidas rep also confirmed Rutgers and Indiana were not in that upper tier. So who are the other 4 programs in the top tier? BC is not in that group as they are only sponsored by Adidas for football
