I received this picture from a friend of mine, an OM fan/grad. It was on Quincy's twitter account, but to no surprise, it has been taken down.

Can't see the picture

We got him a link to an email account. Are students not allowed to get new cars? I got a sweet new Cherokee in college. Leased that **** for $250 a month. Manual transmission, I liked that car.

Glad we're stepping up, I assume we're buying him a car because he's getting some playing time. That Youngblood kid ought to be getting a damn sweet ride soon.

We are by no means saying that Quincey's family didn't buy this BMW for him, but I think the NCAA would be doing their due diligence to make sure. Right?

Who is Quincey? What does his family do? And what year is that BMW?

I'm sure he's getting some benefits if he is any good, and those benefits are probably helping pay for the car, but I knew plenty of people in college that drove cars way too nice for what their parents did. Parents were just happy to have a kid in college and a combination of wanting to reward him/her and wanting their baby to be able to keep up with the Jones caused them to make what was very likely a stupid decision. If that's not a brand new BMW and one of his parents has a job, the cash he legitimately gets would probably be enough to put making a similarly stupid decision within their reach, even if it's not a particularly good job.

****! I owe a BMW and they give that **** away. I'm sure a college student can handle one of those payments....

Very nice ... and expensive ... car. Makes my '54 Chevy PowerGlide when I was at MSU look a bit drab. But I didn't play football.

And you're sure he isn't leasing it? You can lease a 2014 for just over $300. Brand *** new. That's less than half of a rent payment in Oxford for even a ****** apartment.

If the NCAA investigated every time a player got a new car they wouldn't have time to do anything.

I'm just going out on a limb and guessing there are quite a few of your players that have similar cars.

Looks brand new to me. Surprised it's a sedan though.

I don't know who he is either ... I'm assuming he's a Bear football player. Not many kids drive a new or almost new BMW around campus though.

OK, just found out who he is. He's a freshman wide receiver from Texas. Scout says he's a 3-star, the Bear website says 4-star, and was the 42nd recruit for the year. Signed in January with the Bears.

Hard to tell (for me, at least) but that looks like a 5-series. Don't think you can lease that for $300.

Jeff Scott didnt even have a car until last year, Cody Prewitt drives a 92' i cant even remember, Aaron Morris drives an old lincoln. Those are all that I know of other than CJ's truck. There are plenty of students on campus with luxury cars. Because he's black, a booster had to buy it for him? Racist

How would we know if he is leasing it, bought it, or if it was given to him? We have no clue, but, when recruits tweet out that they have a new Beamer and then delete the tweet, it causes suspicion.

If Chris Jones or Ashton Shumpert tweeted out that they were driving a new hummer, would you not be suspicious?

And by the way, I haven't seen our players tweet out new cars. Our players usually just tweet about how hungry they are and how they want someone to bring them some food.

****, there are probably 763 BMWs parked on sorority row right now

Seriously, way too many kids had nice new cars. My kid is getting a pinto.

that looks like an older model to me, btw, but the back end looks odd. The new ones have more curves on the hood I think. Don't care much either way, seems odd we are buying players after they sign though, and he barely plays.

Probably be shocking to see what the ones who play every game are getting. Ha. The price must've gone up though ... didn't CJ get a used truck, now this guy gets a Beemer. Wonder what Nkemdiche got???

I have an 83 Malibu in "good" condition that I'm willing to give to a player if a middleman can arrange the transaction. Any takers? Political Hack, you around here?

(The cash is in the trunk under the spare tire. Don't tell the NCAA.)

Yeah, I remember always being amazed at how many new model BMWs and Tahoes were on campus when I was there. Based on how many there were, an outsider would have guessed Mississippi was rich as ****.

I dont know what it was, but at least during my time from 99 til 04, a ton of students were damn concerned with image and either projecting what was real, or projecting what they wished was real.
I wouldnt be surprised to find out that 60% of the state's BMWs were on MSU's campus. And what the hell were thousands and thousands and thousands of kids doing with $35K+ Tahoes? What the **** do all their parents drive if then?

When I was in college, I knew a few people who maxed out on their student loans just so they could play with the extra money. Apparently, there were no requirements that the money go to tuition, so they lived very well off of the remainder. I always thought that was insane. Why go in the hole over a car payment or a big screen TV? I guess they didn't care, because they wouldn't have to pay it back for a while. I wonder if athletes do the same thing?

The population that goes to State and Ole Miss is fairly rich. Mississippi is poor because we have a **** ton of people not making much if any money, not because the people making money make a lot less than in other states. If you only looked at people above the poverty line and recalculated per capita income and median income for each state, Mississippi is more or less middle of the pack. Not outstanding but not terrible. While BMW's and tahoe's are certainly expensive cars, there obviously wouldn't be that many of them if they were out of reach of the upper middle class in the richest country in the world.
