My take on this is that I agree with him that overall pitching is more critical than hitting but only to a point. Pitching might keep you in nearly every game but you still can't win unless you can score runs.

The downside to our current combination of great pitching and abysmal hitting is the severe frustration of dropping so many close games.

I agree also pitching is the more important. That being said for our present team they should be swinging at anything in bat range when runners are in scoring position and help their pitchers out just a little.

Good hitting- for power and average
Team speed

Not necessarily in that order. I do agree that if you could only choose one it would be good pitching.

Look at our team two years ago- we won 23 games I believe.

Right now, we have a bad hitting team and an average defense and we have 31 wins with three games left plus the SEC Tournament.
