Serious question for the "OM is about to get the death penalty" folks
It's always been my understanding that the coaches generally don't turn one another in, either because of Slive and his protect the SEC mandate, or because all of the coaches know where each other's skeletons are hidden. So if all the coaches know where the skeletons are buried, then do you really think the coaches are going to be uncovering those skeletons for the SEC/NCAA?
I'm with the skeptics, especially in light of the Cam Newton deal. If the skeletons weren't shown the light of day on that deal, then why would they be now? All of you in this thread seem to think that Ole Miss has pissed off all the big boys and those schools aren't going to take it. You may be right about the message board heros and some boosters, but do you think the coaches are going to start that war? Maybe the coaches are dropping hints without getting too far into it, but I'm not sure I see them going all in, and exposing themselves at the same time. Let's not be naive either, all the SEC coaches have skeletons buried in the ground.
I think this is where Slive comes in. The coaches run to Slive bitching about Ole Miss. Slive goes to Freeze, who then tells him that if he comes after him he'll go full throttle on digging up everyone's skeletons, throwing PIs and all sorts of **** on it (not like they haven't done that before). Slive works out some lesser deal to satisfy the blood hungry wolves and everyone goes about their business. That's just as plausible as all the **** being tossed around on here today. Besides, they don't have Bracky to go ahead and report all this.
