Oh no. Great actor. I always liked him in everything he played.
Frank Pembleton was one of the best characters of all time
This times ten. I have the Glory Soundtrack on CD somewhere. But, like DCD said, he was great in everything.
His character as a clinical psychologist on House is underrated. I think a top 10 actor of our time.
Homicide: Life on the Street is probably my favorite show of all time. He was incredible in that show.
Just one of the best actors on the planet. I doubt he was ever less than excellent in anything he did.

Homicide life on the street was probably the best mix of writing, acting, and music I've ever seen on television.
Man this one hits different. Homocide was one of the first shows I really got into and he was the absolute star. I loved him in Glory, Denzel of course owned ate all of the scenery, but Brauer, Broderick, Elwes, and Freeman stood toe to toe. Then Brooklyn 99 hits and he just crushes it with a comedy part that is outside of him. He was amazing and honestly, the fact that he is getting this much love on SPS is a testament to his talent.
He was a great man and a great actor and he was one of those people that was hard to distinguish between the two.
