If it's a sloppy rainy day Sat, does it give any team an advantage over the other? At first, I was thinking it would help AUB more because they're supposedly more of a run oriented team & trying to get to the outside with their speed. We've always been more of a north and south team but this team, I'm not so sure yet. Since we're going to throw the ball more this year, i think the rain could help us out offensively, with the receivers being able to get more seperation. What's your thoughts?

I honestly think....

That is the first time I have ever heard anybody say the rain will help out the passing attack..

I think our stable of running backs can be as good as we let them.. Don't see any problems with relying on this group for 75% of the snaps due to a soggy field..

But, we shall see..

A bigger help might be forecaster gusts of 25 mph to neutralize the FG kicking game. Auburn has an all-world guy as usual while we have walk-on type FG talent.

I've heard qbs and especially receivers say the rain helps them, they know what route they're running, the DB doesn't, therefor the wet, sloppy conditions make it tougher for the defender to stay with the receiver.

Yep, scary stat from last week if this does end up being a nailbiter ---

Auburn 4-4 on FGs
MSU 0-1 on FGs (and we have nobody on our roster that's ever MADE a collegiate FG)

This. Matt Wyatt says the rain helps te pass because, as stated, the receivers know what routes they will run. The d backs are the ones thr get burned usually
