Central Va has been inundated with buckets of rain and it has affected many games what could have been barnburners. JF 8 Heritage 6 for example as well as Cave Spring 7 Christiansburg 6. But in some cases, rain or shine they do fine. Salem with 51 points before half, Amherst with 35 and the beat goes on. Most teams starting their traditional district games and wheat is starting to be separated from the chaff.

A few finals and several blowouts. Looks like the big boys took care of business in 4A West. Locally, Salem, Amherst and William Byrd keep the momentum as they are halfway to the playoffs and I expect really close to clinching spots with 5 weeks to go. JF bounces back and LCA gains much need confidence as well as points by defeating 5A Maury. Hope the weather is better next week. October is in the air.
Most impressive win tonight was Byrd handling SR like they did. Byrd is for real with what appears to be a very good D.

We had Jurassic Park-type rain in Salem from late last night until early this afternoon. Never did fully clear up, but the rain finally stopped in the afternoon, and nary a drop fell during the game.
