You need counseling. You want harm to come to some kid just because he left your favorite team? Fanatical obsession is not good for you. He’s a kid! It’s nice to have a classy answer while internally dreaming of Nwareni body slamming him into oblivion.![]()
I’m wishing injury with a hard sack? Definitely not, but a hard, clean sack x 5 in a game we aren’t supposed to win. I hope our staff is thinking this way instead of pretending he’s wearing a green jersey. You need counseling. You want harm to come to some kid just because he left your favorite team? With our staff understanding what Dylan can and can’t do well- we should have a great game plan in place for that game. 25 games. plus and all the inside intangibles. Could be pretty helpful. Hope we have some junk defense sets to really confuse RiolaI’m wishing injury with a hard sack? Definitely not, but a hard, clean sack x 5 in a game we aren’t supposed to win. I have no ill will. He played good Saturday as I mentioned in this very thread and I like our guy better. I hope we hit him (insert any qb we face) hard and blitz often.

If USC had a full week to prepare for Dylan. And Lincoln Riley is not a defensive minded coach. USC would have had a different game plan in place .With our staff understanding what Dylan can and can’t do well- we should have a great game plan in place for that game. 25 games. plus and all the inside intangibles. A full week to prepare versus 2 plus years 25 games and hundreds and hundreds of hours of practice . Knowledge of his strengths and weaknesses to the nth degree. Lincoln Riley isnt known for his defensive prowess and he doesn’t have the intimate knowledge of Dylan’s psyche, weaknesses, tendancies . How would usc know all of Dylan’s process of analyzing defenses and changing plays? In the right hands- very valuable info. Dana, Rhule and Snow know much more about Riola than Riley. Hopefully they can put that info to good use. Bait him by showing him looks he likes for certain concepts - then sit on what Dylan moves the play to or what he likes to do. Force Dylan to move out of the pocket, take away the little outlet passes and mix up and disguise coverages- you know - the stuff he really struggled with. Force him to do the things Hes not good at and doesn’t like doing. If USC had a full week to prepare for Dylan. And Lincoln Riley is not a defensive minded coach. We shall see. His performance against USC gives me pause. He was right about one thing. Oregon has more talent than us especially in their O line. It’s possible that Dante Moore is back by our game.A full week to prepare versus 2 plus years 25 games and hundreds and hundreds of hours of practice . No way to know for sure. That was a bad one. I have to think that Lanning is very comfortable if Raiola starts for our game. Why would we be playing Raiola in the first place? Moore won't be back from a concussion in 3 weeks?
Moore will be back before then.No way to know for sure. That was a bad one. I have to think that Lanning is very comfortable if Raiola starts for our game.
His eyes might be crossed and his left side may be just a little tingly but he’ll be back? Nevermind the drool coming out of the left side of his mouth. That was a really bad situation. I’ll be surprised if he’s not out 3-4 weeks. If HE is smart he’ll sit for a month.Moore will be back before then.
Agreed. Their oline and receivers are definitely better. USCs defense always suspect though. Riola starting may very well depend on how both teams do in the next 2 weeksWe shall see. The kid wants to eventually draw an NFL paycheck. If I were advising him, I would be listening to the docs. It’s not a situation to take lightly. And if I’m the coach, I’m glad my benefactor has a giant wallet and the backup is about as good as the starter. His eyes might be crossed and his left side may be just a little tingly but he’ll be back? Great point, probably true. In today’s era Hes probably going to sit. Oregon isnt a national Championship caliber team this year. And Oregon is thinking they aren’t missing a beat with Riola doing as well as he did.The kid wants to eventually draw an NFL paycheck. If I were advising him, I would be listening to the docs. They have a bye. 2 weeks to sit. He'll be back for UCLA. Just north of a 0% chance he hasn't returned for our game. His eyes might be crossed and his left side may be just a little tingly but he’ll be back? Just reading the reaction of Duck fans, they were quite impressed with Raiola. Some want him over Dante. Others don’t see that happening because they don’t want to tank Dante’s stock, but they do want Dante to be 100% and Raiola enables them to not rush Dante back. They have a bye. 2 weeks to sit. No one cares what Oregon fans think, especially Dan Lanning. The odds of a player sitting in concussion protocol for an entire month is extremely rare.Just reading the reaction of Duck fans, they were quite impressed with Raiola. Some want him over Dante. If Raiola plays against a hot UCLA team, plays well, and leads them to victory, then I could see them giving him the Nebraska game too.
The thing that helps at Oregon his receivers are going to win the man coverage most of the time and the are great athletes who can make unbelievable catches. Agree he has lot of work to be a NFL qb . But he is in a good spot now to try to improve in those areas. If Dylan wants to make the NFL, he has to be able to throw contested balls into tight windows. He seems very adverse to any risk, does good against zone coverage from poor teams but was absolutely terrible against man coverage.
Oregon fans and Dan Lanning have some things in common. They both want Oregon to win football games. They both have eyes. They both have watched Dante and Dylan play with the same teammates and coaches in game action. They can independently come to the conclusion. No one cares what Oregon fans think, especially Dan Lanning. The odds of a player sitting in concussion protocol for an entire month is extremely rare.
Probably. Dylan has limitations in his play and ability....am i the only one who see's how the ball comes out of his hand just a little different than your average QB? Dude is a natural thrower. He's going to kill it at Oregon... he's just getting warmed up.
You don't just sit a guy who has cleared concussion protocol and tell him to sit out a few more games. Certainly not a guy who is considered a top 5 pick. What's the other option? Have the doctors lie?Oregon fans and Dan Lanning have some things in common. They both want Oregon to win football games. They both have eyes. The part that you might be missing is that Dante has really not played well since Indiana last year. They already have one loss because of it, and might have another if Dylan didn’t play well and lead them to a win a must-win game against a hated rival on the road. If Dante was playing like a Heisman candidate and a top 10 NFL pick, the job would certainly be his the second he gets cleared. But Dante hasn’t played that way since last season.
I am a big Dylan fan but he doesn't seem to have improved at all since his time here. His footwork is still a mess and he hasn't gained any trust in using a pocket to step up and throw. I am sure he has an outstanding arm but he rarely ever makes a true, step-into it type of throw. Everything in the Oregon game was off the back-foot, sling it style. I know he is coming back from a broken leg, and there isn't a lot of prep-time when 3 qbs are getting reps. He is the same guy there as here. I would rather face him than Dante by a mile.We shall see. His performance against USC gives me pause. He was right about one thing. Oregon has more talent than us especially in their O line. I did. He didn’t do anything differently, he hit the short passes well, as he did here. He backed up in the pocket, and threw off his back foot, like he did here. The play calls and offense suit him … get the ball out quickly and don’t make him think. He’ll have good numbers, that doesn’t mean he’s changed in any way. Everyone knows his deficiencies, and the coaching staff is smart to avoid those as much as possible.LOL. Did you even watch that game?
He got pressured multiple times and managed to step up in the pocket to avoid the rush several times. I noticed ONE instance where he “threw off his back foot” when his left tackle or guard were shoved back in his face. That resulted in an underthrown ball where his WR adjusted and made a catch near the goal line. I’m not sure what game you were watching if you think he repeatedly threw off his “back foot”. I think that’s one of the most over used sayings in football. He had one errant pass where he was avoiding the rush and missed a guy over the middle.I did. I noticed a screen that went for 50 yards. I noticed a WR that was very open inside the 5 and made a great catch on an inaccurate pass. I saw the on the last TD, the WR was very open and yet the catch was contested. Those last two throws were two of the longest passes downfield he had all game.I did. Odd post. If anything, I thought I was overly critical of DR when he was here. For sure, you've moved on sis![]()
