Boise, UAB, flip a coin. It's like voting for a giant douche or a turd sandwich. Vandy is akin to a hot steaming pile of MSU sorority feces sitting on top of a cooler.

We need to be realistic. Boise is the better team and even though vandy sucks bad, they are better than usm. Thing is we haven't played our starters the whole game. If we did people would be clamoring over us. Based on play I say us and tsun are about equal on defense, we are better on offense and they are better with special teams. I would still give us an edge over them this year even on their field. To me we are 10 points better. The country will see how bad they are on offense when they start playing good teams. I mean it was 7-6 against an undersized Boise team. I believe if we played Boise with our starters we would beat them 45-0.

Boise isn't great, but I don't think they are necessarily a bad team. They just aren't the Boise of a few years ago. UAB is much improved from last year, but they are still UAB. If our secondary had batted down a few balls, we would've put them away like we were supposed to. Vandy looks like one of the worst SEC teams in recent years. USM's level of suckitude can only be topped by the last two USM teams.

I don't think a lot of people realize that the coach for UAB is the same guy led Jacksonville State in a victory against Ole Miss a couple years ago. Good coach.

Boise's coach was the OC for USM when they won CUSA a couple years ago.

Both suck.

USA is better than all of them, and I don't just say that because they're next. I've said it since before the beginning of the season. Their D is underrated.

I'm not so sure

that you can definitively say that Vandy is better than USM, at this point. They're both terrible.

I mean, both of those statements are wrong. UAB's coach Bill Clark wasn't at Jacksonville State in 2010, 2013 was his only season there. Boise's coach Bryan Harsin has never coached at USM. Seriously, do you just pull everything from your ***?

My bad, USM's coordinator is now the ASU coach and took Boise's now coach's spot. I've got no excuse for the JSU statement. But it is a solid program.

Little known fact that most people don't know: USA's Head coach was the coach of the Little Giants the year they beat the Cowboys.

Boise is head and shoulders above the other 3. Take off the glasses.

Boise just put up over 600yds offense on a Colorado State team that won 8 games last year. UAB is probably better than USM/Vandy, but i wouldn't get carried away. They won two games last year. I know the party line is that the guy brought in 15 jucos. That just means he has a team full of players that weren't good enough for D1 out of high school.

Now flame a way.

1. Boise, 2A UAB, 2B Vandy 4 USM. As bad as they've looked so far, Vandy would be favored in a game against UAB, even though UAB appears to be much improved from last year. As far as USM goes, they just barely beat Alcorn State last week. Let that sink in. They needed a defensive stop inside the 35 yard line in the last minute of the game to squeak out a 6 point home win over Alcorn State. Vandy would beat USM by 3 touchdowns.

I think most would agree Boise is ahead of the other three and most have in this thread. As far as JUCO players go, if you think that is what it means you must not follow college football very much. There is a huge list of JUCO players in the NFL. They are just often not academically eligible out of HS.

MSU point/game allowed 17
OM points/game allowed 8

MSU yards/game allowed 416
OM yards/game allowed 283

OM has played the tougher schedule and 0 home games.

MSU D may be as good as OM, but that has certainly not been the case thru 2 games.

If you think UAB came in and got a bunch of great players from Juco then you

must not watch college football at all. Juco is certainly a place where D1 schools go for talent, but the good juco players are cherry picked by the higher level D1 teams. You don't just go sign 15 juco "studs" at one school. If you believe that is the case, i have some land for sale. Nice ocean view n ****.

UAB only hung close with ya'll b/c Mullen coached like a dumbass last week and your secondary played like ****. You could have easily hung 60 on them if you wanted.

I'll disagree with you on Vandy. They're horrible. If Vandy-UAB played, and Vandy was favored, I would be the farm on UAB.

I think most

reasonable people would agree that Boise is ahead of UAB, but it's not exactly lightyears. Boise 2014 does not come close to Boise 2007.

Agreed. Boise would beat UAB badly. UAB is much better than a year ago. But they looked better than they really are because they hit all 5 deep passes they attempted. No one can consistently hit deep passes like that no matter how open their receivers are. And when we started running our real offense, we scored 5 TDs in a row, all on drives over 60 yards. My rank:

1. Boise
2. UAB
3. Vandy
4. USM

I watched a little of BSU-Colorado State the other night, and it confirmed what I thought I saw against us. That RB they have (Ajayi) will start on Sundays. He's really good. Hedrick is pretty good too, and a good athlete, though our pressure got to him and kept him from really getting anything going with his legs.

BSU's defensive front is pretty good too. They held CSU to 28 yards rushing, a week after CSU had 266 on the ground against Colorado. If you haven't seen CSU, they have Dee Hart in their backfield. He was one of Saban's blue chip RB signees at Bama, and he looks the part of your typical Bama back, so the 28 yards on the ground is something very few teams will do to CSU. Hart has a good shot at making it to the league too.

It's still hard to say how good any team is this early, but Boise has shown enough in some key areas that leads me to believe they'll be a 9-10 win team. Not sure they can run all the way to 11-1 and a likely Top 25 finish and Playoff Bowl invite, but they should win a good number of games if Ajayi and their defensive front stay healthy.

Your forgetting that we don't play our starters most of the game. If play all of our starters for the whole game the stats would be better

I'm not sure I'd read much into anything Boise does while wearing blue at home. There's a reason the MWC tried to ban the blue on blue.

Good post and true, I'm not sure what

We have on either side of the ball but we will know soon enough. Bears look pretty solid but I need to see them against better competition to start forming an opinion.

Best to worst..

1) UAB
2) Boise State
3) USM
4) Vandy

1) Probably UAB. Why? Because they have better athletes than Boise and could beat them, I'm pretty confident of that.
2) Boise State belongs here.
3) USM is better than Vandy
4) Will win their only game of the season Saturday...maybe...maybe not.

Truthfully, none of their players, JC or HS, are really even rated enough for me to present facts that they are any kind of upgrade. The point is that JC athletes that eventually sign with D1 schools are almost always at the JC level because of grades not because they weren't good enough. I doubt UAB's coach went out and signed a bunch of players from JC that are a downgrade in talent just so he could have some upperclassmen.
