I agree. I only saw two Murray St games but they were painful to watch. However I really enjoyed watching Ohio play. Solid D, good movement on offense...

Martin has proven success. He's a little nutty, but I want to win. I'd take him in a second.

Groce looks great on paper and we could get him for a reasonable salary.

I'd be thrilled with 1 or 2. The other 3 would be works in progress.

Martin's teams are always inconsistent and turn the ball over alot. Isn't that what you just had with RS?

1. Collins, This guy has been living and breathing Duke basketball for a long time now. He is a winner. 2. Prohm, I like that his first year as a coach he finishes with a 31-2 record. That's 17ing strong. I don't care if it wasn't against big teams. 31-2 is tough to do. Murray State's league can't be much worse than the MAC. 3. Groce, he wins in big games. He's won 2 MAC conference championships in 4 years and he's 3-2 in the NCAA tournament. His downside is he's only 34-30 in the MAC. That's a bad record to deserve $1.5 million dollars. 4. Payne, who the 17 is this guy? Hell no please don't hire this idiot. 5. Martin, I can't stand Frank Martin. I think he's a total 17up in the head and I don't want him anywhere near our basketball program.

I've heard that his players respect himtremendously and he gets every once of effort out of his players. If you look back at his recruiting, K-Stateusuallysinges 2-3 star guys but always end up in the tourney. I was listening to SVP the other day, and he said that his players would run through a wall for him.<div>

1) Mike K-Duke
2) John Calipari-Kentucky
3) Roy Williams- North Carolina
4) Any D-1 Head Coach other than the ones that have been mentioned on this board the past week.**

Everybody can find something wrong with every candidate that Mississippi State will/may attract, but it looks like most here want a clone of one of the guys on my list.

All I can say is good freaking luck.**

Frank Martin ... antics won't go over well especially when he is not winning.

From what I've read, he's actually toned down his on court demeanor as of late. I think he realized it was a red flag to potential suitors.

I could buy an argument of Groce over Martin, but there's not way I'd go with the assistants over him (with the assumption we aren't breaking the bank on Martin). Martin is a great recruiter with proven and current success. He's a known value. The assistants on this list very well could end up being great coaches, but there's much more uncertainty with them.

Still unsure which I prefer, but though Murray State did play a weak overall schedule, they did play some really good teams at the top and had a great record against them. RPI was brought down by their conference mates. Wins included @Memphis, USM, St Mary's & Colorado State, with the NCAA loss to Marquette, a team they had with 7 minutes to go before suffering a bizarre 6-minute stretch where they scored just 2 points.<div>
</div><div>Looks like they beat the crappy teams handily, so no "ugly points". Only loss they should have won was against 20-13 Tenn State, who they then beat in their OVC final a week later.</div>

"1. Collins, This guy has been living and breathing Duke basketball for a long time now. He is a winner."

and not only is he a Duke assistant, he is the highest ranking Duke assistant. In other words, if something happened to Mike Kry-lotsoflettershere-ski, he would take over as interim. Sure, he may not have HC experience, but he's played for and coached under one of the greatest coaches of all time for about 15 combined years now. I'm sure he'll be a quick study.
