11. OSU at West Virginia, Oct. 10: Mediocre Mountaineer team knocked off excellent Cowboy team two years ago in Morgantown.

15. Maryland at West Virginia, Sept. 26: Still doesn’t seem right that a WVU-Maryland game is a Big 12/Big Ten matchup.

17. West Virginia at Kansas State, Dec. 5: The Big 12 must think this is a big game. It’s one of only two Big 12 games on the final weekend.

19. West Virginia at OU, Oct. 3: An early Big 12 test for the Sooners. Better pass it.

21. Texas at West Virginia, Nov. 14: Loser might fall into the second division.

24. Texas Tech at West Virginia, Nov. 7: Old pals Kingsbury and Dana Holgorsen meet again.

28. West Virginia at Baylor, Oct. 17: Mountaineers pulled the upset last season in Morgantown. But this game’s in Waco.

33. West Virginia at TCU, Oct. 29: When they entered the league together, the Mountaineers had the huge edge at QB. Now it’s reversed.

41. West Virginia at Kansas, Nov. 21: Since Mangino left KU, the Jayhawks have three Big 12 wins and have beaten no conference more than once. The Mountaineers could be twice.

46. Georgia Southern at West Virginia, Sept. 5: Georgia Southern is not a terrible mid-major. It won the Sun Belt Conference last season.

51. Iowa State at West Virginia, Nov. 28: Only to the Cyclones might it seem warm in Morgantown on Thanksgiving weekend.

71. Liberty at West Virginia, Sept. 12: Turner Gill is 23-14 in three seasons as Liberty’s coach.

We are facing a really difficult schedule and the real question is do we finally have the talent to have a good season? The defense is going to get it done but we need the offense and specials teams to step up in a major way.

I've often offered support for DH....but we've had the talent to have a 'good season'.

Really....that's an understatement.

I agree we have had enough talent to perform better but now we have enough to know if it's talent or in the coaching. Before it was too close to call.

This is what 18-20 for 3 seasons and no finish higher than 4th in the Big 12 will get you: Disrespect!!! Big-time.

No use getting angry about it. Walk the walk. Talk the talk doesn't work. We tried that.

I do agree that, if WVU wallows in the lower half of the Big 12, there has to be a serious look at the coaching. Now that Holgorsen pretty much has his own recruits and his owning coaching staff, it's all on him. He gets the blame if this goes south, just as he should get the credit if WVU starts the Big 12 season with 4 straight victories against the 4 best teams in the Big 12, according to the oddsmakers. The other 5 games should be much easier. But even that would be 4-5, not good enough.

If the reason is because players don't want to come to Morgantown, then WVU is doomed forever. But if the reason is because the talent isn't being coached enough, then that's not on the players. WVU has high NFL draft choices, and loses. If depth is the problem, then it should be fixed by now.

The 2015 season is a litmus test for Dana and the coaching staff. The guy from Alabama knows what it takes to have a winning program. If he decides this isn't it, we're in for another 3 or 4 years of waiting for the new guy to get his ducks in a row.

Red Bull doesn't seem to be doing it.

Oh, for the days of 9-4, 9-4, 9-4 not being good enough . . .
