I would rate our LBers lower simply b/c of depth. I think we have 2 of the top 15 or 20 LBers in the conference, but #3 is going to be a new face, and if White or KJ (Heaven forbid) get hurt we may be royally hosed.

Our DL and secondary will be our strengths b/c of all of the depth we do have in those positions. We may not have any stars outside of McPhee, but everyone across the board is on the 2 and even 3 deep is solid. Moving Banks to safety and Mitchell to SS is going to pay huge dividends this year...especially if we can get pressure from the front 7 consistently.

you use words like "fagboy"

I dont see why some Ole Miss fans cant come over here and have a spirited argument on linebackers, etc. It is when people like you start calling people "fagboy" that it gets out of hand and childish.

Keep it up and you won't have to wait for 8dog to get back in town to come up with your next username.

for all schools at the end of this thing and see how it comes out. Lowest score is best. It would be interesting to see where State falls per your rankings when all positions are added up.

Note: I am not criticizing your rankings, just think it would be a cool thing to see at the end of all these.

A spirited debate is one thing. But you can't even discuss MSU without some rebel coming to make sure we're in our place. I guess you enjoy that sort of thing. That's not objectivity, it's homerism (or reverse homerism) from the team that hates us the most.

It is an open forum. It is not about being objective, it is about talking sports. Like it or not, a discussion of MSU sports is often going involve some comparison and/or argument with Ole Miss. When they get out of hand we usually lock the threads.

If we can have an argument without calling names, I usually enjoy them.

For the record, I think our LB crew is a push with Ole Miss at this point. The key will be the development of the 3rd LB for each team. Wright is good but I really think he only started playing to his potential late last year. He was built to be an end-rusher (really a 3-4 OLB) and I think Diaz will utilize that far better than the 'stache did. I agree with most that White is a stud and will open a lot of eyes at MLB this year. Especially with our big DTs occupying blockers. Walker and Cornell are good players, there is no denying that. It is really close.

and make predictions from it- most of the time it is close to being very correct in predicting outcomes- but sometimes it also leads me to make predictions like Mississippi winning the West like I did last season.

it's not always as simple as viewing stats. Goat mentioned we made some changes on defense that helped us get a little better in the 2nd half of the season. But we also have made a scheme change that is going to help as well. Teams racked up some yardage on Torbush's sit back and react defense. Auburn racked up nearly 600 yards against what was the worst defensive gameplan I have ever seen.

Also, I think you are going to see a better 3rd down conversion rate from our offense- which of course leads to more TOP, which also helps the defense.

You bring up another good point here, it is going to be interesting to see how our players look with an entirely different man at the helm on defense.
