One thing not talked about is Ray had an opportunity to have a career in some capacity in the media considering his likability before this after retirement. He will have to find another plan if that was something he was looking into

Well I stand corrected on thus matter. I beleved and still believe that the Ravens owed him nothing.

The article states that the NFL and the Ravens made mistake. I agree the NFL f-ed up but the Ravens didnt do anything wrong under the collective bargining agreement. A team can cut any player anytime without even giving a reason.

He was reinstated halfway thru last season but no team picked him up.

decent chance that a team will invite him to 2015 Summer camp.

Really sad experience. Ray gave much to the Baltimore community by organizing holiday meals for the needy and school supplies for the students. He was the champion of Maryland's anti-bullying legislation. Looking forward to his personal and professional comeback.

Nice payday??? OP, who do I oh think got a nice payday.....my guess would be the attorneys and or legal team representing him. These folks do not work for nothing and given the situation etc. I am sure a nice chunk of his settlement went for legal fees. The big thing.in the entire situation is how it was poorly handled by the NFL and the commissioner.

Didn't RR get a $20 mil signing bonus in like 2013? IIf so, he should be in pretty good shape financially..

I'm with WB on this one and I like RR. I don't believe the Ravens owe him a thing. Also agree with the above that lawyers more than likely got a good chucnk and then after taxes Ray got a couple hundred thousand.

As for sports casting in the future...I agree that if that was what he wanted to do, it will hurt him here but how damn ironic when you see a guy like Ray Lewis completely forgiven and loved so much...

Lewis was never found guilty of anything (whether anyone believes that is a different story). Ray was found guilty with video evidence. Big difference.

Lewis was never found guilty of anything (whether anyone believes that is a different story). Ray was found guilty with video evidence. Big difference.

He pleaded guilty of obstruction of justice in a murder case. A misdemeanor and was sentenced to a year of probation.
