Realistically, how do we stop this?

There's a growing chorus of concern over sports betting in the general public also. It seems that the app era has enabled all sorts of destructive financial behavior.

What? You're saying people don't read the small disclaimer in the ads that says it's "for entertainment purposes only?"

17 it. Send them to jail. What's different about this than any other crimes involving market manipulation?
The house is making money regardless. They run the numbers to protect themselves if the fix is on.

Gambling is market manipulation.

Has Mahomes or Kelce refuted stories of the chiefs taking a dive in the Super Bowl?
This is funny, but now every single game makes you ask that question. Did the ref call that because he has a cousin with lots of money on the under? Did the player drop that pass because he has money riding on it? Sure, this has always been there. But now it feels like there's almost no chance a game is on the up and up. Depressing.

You’re asking about the difference between this decade’s “protected class” and white collar criminals? Even white collar non-criminals are viewed with contempt today.

I doubt there's much appetite to rationalize throwing games with some sob story as to why they should be able to do it. Society has surprised me before though. Anyhow, I don't really care about protected classes or labels as justification to punish or not punish perceived groups. Just punish whoever steals money whether that's athletes throwing games, Wall Street securities fraud, or politicians laundering my tax dollars. 17 em all.

You stop it the same way you stop texting and driving…you don’t.

Athletes have been betting on games since the beginning, it was much easier to conceal when they used a local bookie, much easier to catch now that gambling is online.

NIL fundraising idea: Pick one cupcake non-conference game, sleepwalk through it, and fail to cover. Cha ching.

This happens anyway, might as well monetize it ***

Cost me 20 bucks and shot at s good pay out concerning it was based on scores and chiefs offense forgot how to football. Eagles held up their end of the deal.
