Surprises me they swept FIU in Miami. Also surprising that Wahl got roughed

up on Friday night but they outscored them.

Going to get real interesting

If State and ole miss both finish top 10ish or better. Doesn't seem feasible to have Starkville and Oxford regionals when you're already likely having Baton Rouge and Fayetteville.

P and D haven't been too bad. They just need to get their offense going. It's early in the year, so I don't think it's completely out of the question that they will.

I've been saying for years

that the stars will align for State and Ole Miss to both host regionals, with one of us as a top eight. The NCAA will match us up in a super regional and attendance records will be set that will never be broken.

They set the precedent by matching Clemson and South Carolina up in a Super a couple years ago.

And if you are looking for a very early projection of the 16 hosts, here's a stab.

LSU
Oregon State
Vanderbilt
South Carolina
Cal State Fullerton
Notre Dame
Virginia
Mississippi State
UCLA
Oklahoma
North Carolina
Rice
Arizona
Ole Miss
Florida State
Stanford

SEC (5)
Pac 12 (4)
ACC (3)
Conference USA, Big 12, Big East, Big West (1)

Waiting in the wings: Texas, Oregon, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Miami, UC Irvine, Louisville, Arizona State, South Alabama.

Oh no doubt. By no means am I saying that they are not going to host. I'm just saying that this weekend shows that they may not be as good as originally advertised, which was the #1 team in the nation. Definitely still a very good team, I just don't think its a given that they host.

You would basically need to play the games in one of the football stadiums to accommodate all the fans.

**Before anyone calls me an idiot, I realize this isn't feasible.

This could definitely be the year. It seems to be shaking up that State and Ole Miss could both get top 8 seeds, which would eliminate the possibility of a super regional matchup, but I think both teams are deserving of a host at this point.

Two teams to watch- Southern Miss and South Alabama. Both good enough to host as well. South Alabama would host at Hank Aaron Stadium. The reason I mention this is that both of those teams could be matched up with us or Ole Miss as well, and LSU, for that matter. USM could knock Rice out of a host - South Alabama would need to have a great season (off to a good start) and need the SEC to only have four hosts to have a chance in my opinion.

I don't think Arkansas will be a player in the SEC this year. I think they make a regional, but I don't think they are going to host. This could also be the year that South Carolina falls off a bit, but they will host if they are close.
