Any chance the Bassetts come to Iowa City still? I know all about the break up but is there still communication going on. It's the one question I can't get a straight answer on......

Was Bassett sr the one who went on the internet a couple months before the commitment and told Iowa fans something like "this is why my son will never choose your school"? I was kindof confused a couple months later when Bo indeed committed to Iowa

That was a few weeks before his official visit. I was shocked they even took the visit, so I guess I shouldn’t be shocked when his dad helped Sabotage his verbal. Even in the parents interview after he committed, they seemed disappointed and just said he needs decide what he wants. I’m also surprised it is taking him this long to commit to one of the three schools, seeing he knows PSU very well, knows Taylor for years and was On okyst campus at least 3 times for 2-4 days last year. Maybe Nebraska has a chance, but you’d think he would have taken an official by now. I know I’m hoping Bo and his dad are praying for God to give them a big enough throat to eat all that crow when they ask Tom to give them a second chance 😉😉

No arguments here. I agree with that. I just think we need a 'refresh' like OSU is getting. I get that you are skeptical of the long term direction of that program but every sign possible says we are 2-3 years away from being very comfortably behind them as well. You think it is possible that will taper off -- it could, but it might not. If we brought in a grouping like RBY, Zahid, McKenna, MAN -- Bob said the playing field was level financially but PSU has been bringing in other guys for a decade in that RTC but we decided not to allocate the funds to bringing people in. They obviously were out there because OSU found them.
The U of Iowa is a self funded athletic department. I believe Iowa and Northwestern Re the only ones in the Big Ten who fiscally operate this way.

Any money spent on non Iowa affiliates is frowned upon. The Hawkeye RTC isn’t allowed to put a booth up in Carver during wrestling events to promote itself. The only thing the U of I says, “is don’t create a compliance problem.”
These are not excuses; just the facts.

I never said the playing field is anything but level. Uncle Ira and pal are spending 15 plus million a year on their college and RTC athletes. That matters. Financially they are spending way more than Iowa. It is unclear how much OSU is spending, but it appears to be a lot too.

For those complaining about signing USA and World champions to come to Iowa, you need to donate to HWC. Last I heard the annual raise is somewhere above 1 million, but nowhere near the 5 plus million Nit Wit club spends.

Heard thru the grapevine Bill Bassett said zero chance coming back to Iowa. So there is that. Brands tried calling Bo and Bo wasn't interested. All signs point to PSU. Although with NIL, who knows from day to day.
Aren't you the guy who said good recruiting news was coming based off a tweet from a completely random and anonymous person?

😂

o well. people have been duped before. like i said, people like you make others not want to post anything they see/hear. have a good day dbag.
You mean you're not gonna post the "news" you've been getting from random twitter handles with 2 followers? That's a shame. That's less exposure for the 14 year old who made the tweets.

There is logic as to how we could end up back here. Cooler heads, none of the other programs Bo listed are able to offer the things the Bassett's were allegedly complaining about, either like travel etc., etc. So I can see the logic. I can't believe it would actually happen, though.
