For a long time it seemed like everyone was very optimistic about landing Sidun, especially when he came here with the Basset gang before they back stabbed us. What has changed? Was PSU not showing much interest then, and now they are, and they basically get who they want, especially if Taylor isn’t after them?
PSU was always Landon’s dream school. He’s kept his options open during the process and if there was an offer that was significantly better than what PSU would give him, he’d listen but doesn’t look like that will happen.

Many thought he would be a 133. But he's recently mentioned in an interview that he's thinking career 125. That's a ton of overlap with DeLuca. PSU makes a lot more sense lineup wise for 125.

Or, could be as simple as he loves PSU(yuk). He hasn't committed yet that I'm aware of, so maybe Iowa still in play. Not holding my breath, though.

So did we even do a home visit? Looks like he has already gone on official visits, including Iowa state. At the time everyone was optimistic about him coming here, it seemed many thought Bachman was going to PSU. I bet Sidun is talking career 125 now because that’s what Carl is recruiting him for, so Lilidauhl won’t have to make the big cut his last 2 years. We really need a 133, so I guess the Kenney kid could fit that, unless he has a big growth spurt. I just think Sidun looks very thick with 2 years of high school left, to be a career 125. Are Bachman and Kenny’s younger brothers just one year younger? Also, is Sidun good friends with Hutcherson? Would hate to see both of them at PSU.

Just a reminder here, I posted a few months back that Sidun had stated in at least one interview that his all time favorite wrestler was Zain. Hard to believe, given the opportunity, he wouldn’t go where he could get some coaching from him.

Sidun at Iowa would shock me he seems like a career 125 .
That’s what makes me to think he would end up at PSU, he looks like a career 125. Plus, he just seems to heavily lean to PSU with him being in PA and being at a weight where there is a need for PSU (in the future).

Paul Kenny took him to the brink, I think he’s a great prospect as well. They went to overtime and they were exchanging takedowns. Plus, Kenny comes in 2 and helps us to continue to build a pipeline in NJ.

Give me Kenny’s and Bachmann’s, they’re really close and train together at times. Hope we get them but I’m nervous with Mizzou/tOSU for Bachmann and VTech for Kenny. Only time will tell.

Hope we make a splash in this class and it continues over to the next class.

If this is about Sidun, I think there was talks to do a visit after Senior World's. To be honest I never heard if it ever happened.

Again if about Sidun he visited Ohio State, Pitt, and now Penn State. I don't think ISU was even on his list of top 12 schools

Bachmann and Kenny bros are a year younger (2028), and yes Sidun is close with Hutcherson bros. Hutchersons and Sidun travelled to Iowa together for the prospect camp back in April.

I see V Tech is suddenly back in the picture, must not have have been as impressed with Nebraska as they thought they would be. I remember the parents were really impressed with V Tech and the town, and we found out the hard way how much influence the parents have over where they end up. I’m sure PSU would still be parents first choice, but not sure how great an offer they are making after the Iowa debacle. Still think Iowa is the best spot for them, but they did it to themselves.

The entire thing is a clown show. They don’t have as many options as most think.

Does VT have a RUDIS contract for wrestling?

makes sense. Hard to compete with the money and resources that VTU throws at the wrestling program.
And their RTC is second to none just like Nebraska, to achieve those freestyle goals. If he and his dad get to live their dream of wrestling at PSU or for Taylor, they can thank Melvin. I think it was Willie who said Melvin really wanted to wrestle for us. They knew if they didn’t pressure Melvin into following them, Bo’s stock and options would go down quite a bit without the package deal.

I do not believe the Bassett clan has as much pull with the other recruits (outside of their household) compared with their social media following.
Agreed. Felt the same way when he committed to the Hawks.

However, the social media influence will be felt. He’ll draw a lot of eyes, especially youth, and that’s what a non blue blood program like VT needs. It’s better for the sport he goes there. This is exactly what a program like that needs. I think it’s good for Bo too. Smaller crowd. Less fanfare. Reasonable expectations.

Will be interesting to see who wins between him and the bigger Raney. If Bo ends up at Oky st, will they be able to separate Bo, Forrest, bigger Raney, and the California stud for 4 years?

He will definitely be able to be the face of the program like he wanted, unless Melvin steals it from him. Carver home crowds versus Vteck or even Nebraska is no contest. His ego would have loved the carver atmosphere. I think they really screwed up.

The Hawks attendance in one dual is almost greater than VT attendance all season.

He went from instant rock star status, autograph sessions, sell out crowds, biggest platform in wrestling, and fortune to student athlete and great rivalry with NCST assuming he chooses VT. Thats wild to think about. He blew it and is learning a tough lesson. But he’ll be fine. He’s great for the sport and will bring more attention to a program that needs it.

None of the other teams he’s considering would have had a meet and greet with fans lined up around the block waiting to meet him and buy his merchandise. That was just a little taste of what was to come. Look what happened to Chittum after dumping us. I know he’s not going to be getting near the NIL money he initially negotiated with us. That alone made that a stupid move for him.

Chittum and Basset are the same situation. Both have a psycho father, both had a lot of hype coming out, and IMO both will end up being Huge busts. Bo needs better coaching. He’s a goer and runs over HIGH SCHOOL kids let’s see him on the next level. Team trials were just a preview.

I don't think that's fair about Bo. He has won age level world medals.
