Good read. This part was interesting to me about Vanderbilt: "You have to remember that you’re dealing with 17 to 19-year-olds that can be easily influenced. At Vanderbilt, our message is that we have four characteristics: an opportunity to get a world class education, an opportunity to play in the greatest football conference in America, living in Nashville and playing time. What’s important in the branding throughout your building, is that there is consistency in your branding and in your messaging, so what you’re saying and what you’re selling is being reinforced throughout the graphics in the building,” Franklin explained."

Our message has largely been, "If we can get all the best players in Mississippi to come to MSU we can win championships." Other than that and the facility upgrades, what else are we using as our recruiting message?

Facilities ranked 4th in a recruits decision. Here is a picture gallery of the Leo Seal Football Facility - probably most have already seen it, but just in case...

Very interesting question.....

I think playing in the SEC and playing time are also two factors for us as well. Another would be selling MS players on playing for Mississippi's team, for instance. I'm sure we do alot of talking about coming there to work hard for team, not individual. Kailo Moore said that Mullen told him he probably wouldn't like him, but he WOULD love him. Sort of like how we're the People's University, diverse, and we grind it out and excel because we weren't born with a silver spoon in our hand.

Another message is come to MSU and you can help build the program into something it's never been.

Now, that is great for instate recruits, or people from close-by. How do we convince out of staters to come to MSU, is the question. I think we should play off the 'diverse, small town MS' angle honestly.

Don't know why, but for some reason I just got a chuckle out of the break room photo. I just had a picture in my head of Dan at the microwave warming up his cup-o-noodles.
