It's not hard to understand Kash's impression that he reads on here.
When did Cash say he reads CatsPause? I think some of you are putting way to much in this. There are many forms of social media not named CatsPause btw

I understand that some fans just add gasoline to the fire with ignorant posts, but pointing out problems is not a problem, in and of itself. I'm pretty sure recruits understand how passionate we are as a fan base, and how desperately we want a winning program. If they can't handle some ignorant message board rants, then how are they going to handle playing under the lights in front of 100k hostile hicks singing Rocky Top at Neyland Stadium?

If the fans don't say another word, do you think the recruits won't notice players transferring out of the program? Football is a big boy sport and you have to understand that if you want to play, or coach. I think Stoops gets that, and I haven't given up on him yet, but I'm not far from it. There needs to be some changes during the off season or I just might fall the rest of the way off the bandwagon.

I have lost faith in Eliot because the defense has looked too unorganized at times this year. I can't understand how our offensive line can be so horrendous after 3 years, without it being a coaching problem. The receivers seem to have bricks for hands. I would complain about the special teams coach, but I can't. Halftime adjustments...do we make those? How many games did we win the 2nd half? There has to be some kind of shake up with the assistants if Stoops is serious about turning this thing around.

This year, Stoops needs to make changes. If there is no improvement next year, Mitch will need to make changes.

I love Kash's attitude...GBB

Very nice try, OP, but a lot of fans just don't get it.

I wonder how many of them even read our outstanding commit's words, a true blue Kentucky boy (man, really, regardless of his age) that is also an outstanding person and leader, from all appearances. It looks to me like he thinks all this negativity does hurt, and he should know, he is one of the commits. It looks like he was asking for some of our posters to use some common sense and try to help the program, not hurt it.

And this thread is what he gets.

No one is going to argue that the fan's negativity, even if it is spouted at every opportunity, is going to be a huge effect on what school most recruits will choose, LOTS of factors involved there, home state, distance from home, how much you like the coaches AND fans, the facilities and campus, the tutoring help and the value of the degree, playing with players like you that have some character and haven't been kicked out of other programs or just escaped jail time, maybe some of our commits think winning isn't EVERYTHING, and don't want to play for programs where that is the only thing that matters.

Lots of times their choice is very hard, and SOMETIMES the fan base or worrying about whether the coach that recruited you or that you want to coach you might not be here very well could be the deciding factor. So yes, it definitely can have an effect.

How many of you are really football fans, I don't have to always win to enjoy a game, I remember the great plays even when we lose. When have we ever had the raw talent we have now, hell, we did have TWO four star QBs before one just left, and both were very sought after AND talented, I loved seeing a lot of the passes they threw, just not consistent enough-----yet. How about Boom, or even our other RBs, and doesn't King look pretty exciting to you-----he does me. Some very talented WRs AND a TE, lots of potential. Lots of players to get excited about on D, our ALL FRESHMEN quartet of DBs in particular will make a lot of great plays here. We had TEN four star commits that are only in their second year, they are just getting started, and they need help from this class coming in, which features THREE four star OL that will be a major factor in shoring up probably our biggest deficit, that has always been our biggest problem, we return all but TWO in our two deep, and those are both OL that our new talent (and more experience from some pretty good STARTERS already here) should be able to replace AND improve on.

If you have to win all the games or don't care how much you have to cheat, just win baby, maybe this isn't the program for you, they live just up the road. And if you aren't going to any more games, fine, just don't come on here tearing down the program. And yes, I understand the frustration just as much as any of you.

By the way, let me sum up the commits we have lost so far due to this admittedly tragic ending-------
ZERO------ALL of them hanging in there through SEVERAL discouraging games. Thanks to our young leaders among them. And last year, with THIS STAFF, though we suffered some big losses I'm not sure our coaches didn't find even better replacements, they HAVE been very effective in spotting hidden talent.

Don't jump off the bridge yet.

And IF this staff can't coach a lick they will be gone, just not this year, so let's help them bring in the talent that will bring in top coaches instead of having them laugh at the offer.

And personally, I think next year with the added experience of our young players, the new talent that will come in because UK DOES have a lot to offer and not just in football, AND the added experience of our young staff, 2016 WILL be a very good year.

Who cares. All the talent in the world won't help Stoops.

Maybe they should read the negatives if they do they will quit committing and we can get rid of this lame duck of a coaching staff.v

Do they read it? Probably not as much that some of you think. Do they make decisions based on it, hell no. Whatever floats your boat though.

I'm sure it doesn't affect the recruits and they don't ever read this stuff...accept they do.

https://kentucky.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1831616

There is a difference between being a good fan, a sunshine pumper, pointing out concerns and being a problem. Many on this board are adding to a problem. I for one don't want to see this class go to hell. It's time cooler heads prevailed.

It's ok to be angry, I've been mad for weeks. But Stoops isn't going anywhere this year deal with it. If he goes 5-7 next year he is done so why don't we as Kash says do our part to stay behind the program. It's a win win for everyone. If Stoops wins, we're all happy. If he loses, he gets fired and most everyone is happy too. See, look at the positives.

So how do recruits discern fan criticism from one program to the next - because it happens everywhere. For instance, when The Alabama Fighting Updykes get beat in the playoff, check out their fan sites.

Not floating anything, the kid said he was upset with the fans, didn't hear him say it was affecting his decision. Unless you are reading his mind?

fans pay for their way of life during their 4-5 years of college...

sometimes i don't think folks and players that want to criticize the fan base fully understand that...fans are literally investors in the program...a lot of people give to both the school and athletic department...

and everybody that attends games at least pays the price of the ticket, food and drink, and maybe even merchandise...

we just want to get to 6-7 wins and sniff a bowl...if they think UK fans are rough...maybe they can go to another school that will run off a coach that wins 9 games...

We have one of the most intelligent fan bases in basketball and one of the dumbest in football.

I disagree about the first part, but I do agree with the 2nd. From asking if we're going to have Richt and Pelini as coordinator to the guy behind me Saturday telling Barker what a poor throw he made as he was getting drilled, to the crowd getting loud while we're on offense, and to the fans trying to ridicule our coach for not going for a fourth down when we were up 14 points (that call was marginal at worst, realistically it was the safe call). Our fan base simply isn't that bright and they for sure are not very loyal or supportive (see Commonwealth after halftime).

First of all of course they check in to sites like this, it would be ridiculous to think they wouldn't. It's free and easy to do and they spend most of their free time on the internet and social media. My daughter is a commit at UK and keeps up with a few current commits and believe me they do.

The question is does it matter and I think most of you have answered this already. It can because all recruits constantly gauge the mood of all programs the consider. That's how Stoops and Co. created the first 3 classes, mostly off plain ole sizzle and a positive vibe about where the program was headed. The whole country took notice and tried to figure out what in the world is going on at UK . .. they haven't won anything yet but the recruits are paying attention. It's because of the sizzle created by the coaches, facility upgrades and the fan base. The BBNs attitude was mentioned over and over by recruits as a reason why they were interested. They could feel it. And how could they feel it without getting on sites like this.

But like others said, recruits also understand most every program has down times when then fans aren't happy even at, or especially at the big name programs. They also understand that that isn't necessarily a bad thing and means they care about football at those places and they can see we care here. As long as they think it doesn't mean the coaches that are recruiting them are gone, most are not affected in their decision by some disgruntlement.

Some also see this as just more of a chance to come in and play sooner too.

And as others have said, most also can tell the difference between disappointment with things and goofball tantrums some throw out.

Attacking people's fanhood is part of the problem as well. People come on here to vent and discuss potential solutions and analyze the problem, and get called names and told to leave. That creates more conflict and animosity between posters here than anything else.

It's easy to say, "If Stoops doesn't get it done then that's fine because he'll leave and we'll find somebody else." Yeah, except we just WASTED four years that could have been used more productively if we had an AD who made even half-brained decisions. The root cause needs to be identified and rectified or else what you see on this board will be repeated for the next 20 years.
