What a difference a year makes ! New Head Coach Kristen Butler has it going ! RU is currently 12-9 after going 19-31 last year .

HARRISONBURG, Va. (March 14, 2019) - "Rutgers softball takes it first six-game winning streak since 2015 to the James Madison University Invitational for five games at the Buccaneer Classic on Friday through Sunday, March 8-10 at Betty Basler Field."

Fri. 3/15 vs. St. Joseph's 10:30 a.m.
Fri. 3/15 at No. 22 James Madison 3 p.m.
Sat. 3/16 vs. Morgan State 11:30 a.m.
Sat. 3/16 vs. Binghamton 4 p.m.
Sun. 3/17 vs. St. Joseph's 2 p.m.

"RU currently ranks third in the Big Ten with 1.10 home runs per game after leading the nation with 13 homers at the end of opening weekend. Nine different Scarlet Knights have a hit a home run this season, while last season, Rutgers didn't reach 23 team home runs until its 41st game on April 20.The five home runs against Army is a school record for a single game and tied for third all-time in Big Ten history for a single game."

Heck of a comeback win for the Red Hot RU Softball team.

"The Scarlet Knights (13-9) scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to erase a 5-1 deficit to the Hawks (7-8). Freshman catcher Katie Wingert's solo home run got Rutgers on the board in the sixth before junior Nicole Bowman delivered the walk-off hit in the seventh, a long single to deep left field with one out and the bases loaded. St. Joe's made four errors in the final frame."

whats not to like about our new sb coach....she played in a top conf.,the s.e.c
and excelled , she played pro ball, and did the same..she was a success at the former school. she coached at. she's recruiting nationally. she just got a top flight transfer from alabama of all places...yes alabama!....just hope this continues. i'm oh so use to the ru screw, and the great expectations of a new coach...that usually ends up fizzling out,,,she looks like a winner to me....we shall see

Could be a sweep. Both teams w losing records .

Now she needs some facilities. Field is a glorified high school level field.

More about this phenom Katie Wingert.

Wingert is second in the Big10 with 8 Home Runs.
She is a true freshman from Carlysle , Pa.
She was a 3x All State player in Pa, and POY her senior year.
A Bio Chem Major in the RU Honors program.
