Does anyone here have any insight on Red Springs? Looking forward to playing them this week. Knowing they beat Whiteville makes me nervous. They seem to have had a season real similar to ours. I really feel had we not made some silly mistakes we could be a 1 loss team. We have a senior qb that can make the throws. Sometimes he locks in and throws into too tight a coverage resulting in turnovers but our defense has backed him up all year. Our offense is well rounded between pass and run. Just curious to hear what to expect from Red Springs.

There are a couple of Red Springs posters up here Otis. They were hoping to play Northeastern in the first round. I believe we will meet up in 3 weeks right here in Elizabeth City. I talked to John last night and told him I felt like you would make it to the Eastern Championship

Some of the whiteville poster,keep complaining about turnovers.Forgot to mention the power run an defense.Northeastern were coming

Red Springs has a very good team.Big O and D line,good backs and a very quick QB that can throw if he has time. When they beat Whiteville it was because the Pack had 6 turnovers. 4 fumbles and 2 INT's and had 2 TD's passes dropped .Good LB,s and fast DB's with a hard hitting Safety. Not fancy,just lines up and run the ball down the middle behind those big 250+ lineman.Pack contained the run game well except when the QB broke lose and ran on pass plays. He is very fast. Well coached team.Control the run and you got a good chance to win.I would put a spy on the QB to contain him running.If you can throw the ball use the TE if you have one,or the H back over the middle,because they will bring the LB's most of the time.

That is a long long way off. If we are fortunate enough to get past Red Springs we will be going to Clinton next. That will be a challenge. One I'm hoping we are in!!

Not sure what you meant but we were held scoreless once and that was Havelock. I thought we could beat them because they struggled early in the season but against us they looked like a different team. I was shocked at how they controlled us. I think our best game has been the New Bern game. They are 4A and all it meant was bragging rights in our area. They came in 9-1 and brought a huge crowd. The atmosphere was like a playoff game. If we can get them to play with that intensity we can play with anybody.

RE has 3 big backs that can run. QB can hurt you running ball. They just line up make you tackle those backs all night. Can throw it when they want to.

From what I'm reading I think West Craven can match up size wise. If #5 can limit the mistakes and be ok with just throwing the ball away if it's not there on 1st and 2nd down WC will be fine. #5 has excelled at throwing the middle seam route both times I've seen him if it's open he doesnt miss that pass often.

Huh? We haven't had 6 turnovers all year. Not sure exactly what your talking about. If any team turns the ball over 6 times in a game they're probably gonna lose.

We've been pretty good at stopping the run. New Bern only got 168 I think it was against us. That is probably half of what they have been doing.

I know right, I actually thought about that after I had posted it. I remember John told me WRH had like 5 turnovers in their loss to Havelock.

Beating the Jacksonville line around all night we had 9....cant believe it. Paper and stats said 8 but coach said it was 9, he knows better than they do ....

Lonnie i think Red Springs has a very good chance to win if the backs get behind that very big line and follow them down the field,and play that hard nose defense like they did against Whiteville.

Our defense has steadily been improving this year. We have 5 or 6 soph on defense that are now seasoned players. New Bern couldn't run all over us. I doubt Red Springs will. Looking forward to tonight.

Our reserves did pretty well. We'll unleash the big guns tonight.

Remember Size Matters.Pound for Pound Red Springs haz the hogs .I doubt 185 sophomores can stop that running train.

You're right. The backup JV guys looked good on film, especially on the O-line! Hope ya'll do better than the Pack last night, yikes!

Well they only had one successful drive against us and half their yardage was that one drive so I wouldn't brag on your o-line too much. Our soph d-line handled them ok. If we played again we would whoop that *** again. Take your childish crap back to your 4A board. You can't touch this!!

The 9th graders still did pretty well against your starters. Speaking of that ***. Stop disappointing the County and make it to the title game! Been over 10 years! New Bern and Havelock have won like 6 titles in that span!

Looking forward to it. Hopefully we can have a good hard close injury free game. Hope everyone from Red Springs has a safe trip. If any of you come stop by the inflatable Eagle and say high. Be glad to chat with you.
