Elly De La Cruz at SS while McLain goes to DH. Steer back at 1B. Still no Hopkins in the lineup. At least Fraley wasn't seriously hurt after the HBP in the 9th.

I appreciate what Votto's done for the Reds over the years but I'm afraid this situation is going to gum up the works. Reds should be getting ABs for a 23 y/o hitting .350 in AAA than a 40 y/o with a surgically repaired shoulder hitting .140 on rehab.
Thought Alex McGarry would be one that would play his way into the future 1B plans with his versatility in the OF and take off this year building off a solid 2022 season. Started the year in AAA and not doing much for Chattanooga since the demotion. Have to wonder if this upcoming start for Ashcraft will be his last before a demotion if things don't get figured out. The Blue Jays made the decision to option Alek Manoah to rookie ball after his All-Star season and ranked 3rd in Cy Young votes in 2022. A quick trip to retool and come back stronger may be in his best interest. Hopefully Barrero too since he did not play all that long in AAA after coming back from an injury and joined the Reds again last year. Lodolo is another one after his rough start I wouldn't rush back and get some minor league experience before he rejoins the Reds.

Just a damn shame that we got these good young hitters and most of the pitching staff is crap. Williamson is a AAA pitcher and his era sucked even in aaa.

Only question is....why did it take until June for this to happen.?
I hope it was to retain an extra year of team control on them but to be honest I don't know. It seems like all of the rookies will surpass the minimum to retain their rookie status for another year. Were they able to retain an extra year waiting to June? This whole new process confuses me.

Even if they don't, the Reds should get some extra picks if they at least finish in the top 3 of ROTY voting. Have to think at least 1, maybe even 2 will. Bryce Elder in Atlanta will give them some competition.

Players who win Rookie of the Year earn their team an amateur draft pick "after the first round," and second- or third-place finishers earn an international pick.

Cruz's smile alone is gonna light Cincinnati up. His attitude is infectious...

And Burrow at the game taking batting practice? This is peak Cincy sports for me, and I'm 44 haha

Still hasn't really sunk in yet that ELDC is in the Majors. I hope he gets the contract Votto did to make him a career Red. Seattle recently did it with Julio Rodriguez after 1 year. Sign them early before getting away!

These are exciting times right now. Not beating some garbage team but just took the series vs the Dodgers with thrilling walk-offs. As long as the Reds believe it and fresh blood in the locker room with a winning mindset, that's all that matters going forward! LeCure just said EDLC is Billy Hamilton & Adam Dunn in the same body haha Incredible power and speed.

It would be interesting to know (and likely impossible to find out) the average age of all teams who played baseball tonight.

With J. India looking like the “old hand,” the Reds may well have had the youngest starting lineup in baseball.

Rallying from an 8-3 deficit is pretty special.
Sadak said it was the 2nd youngest lineup tonight.

I got my eye on these Reds.
That old baseball feeling is growing.
I will trade 10 bengal winning seasons for one winning Reds season!
My first sports team in my life will always be my strongest desire. I love the Reds and I wanna win!!!!!!!!!!!
WE ARE DUE.

If they get rid of Bell and Johnson, then they might have a chance at being a .500 team. Way too many holes in the lineup and batting order/lineup changes.

People need to pump the brakes on Elly. 2 games. Anyone who has watched baseball knows his struggles against MLB pitching will happen sooner than later and it will be brutal. He just needs to keep his head.

Yeah at this point ask Votto to become a minor league hitting coach.

Not with YouTube TV unfortunately. They don't carry regional sports networks. Would have to try FUBO TV or Directv Stream which I believe requires their device to run. I am still a regular Directv subscriber and wanted to cut the cord this year but the simple fact of few options out there for Bally Sports is the only reason I continue to subscribe. Bally Sports may still go bankrupt and end up like the Padres which would force the league's hand to put them on MLB TV or another channel.

Future? Future has to be proven on the field....and not after 2 games. You're essentially clueless if you're buying into this without a longer term of success.

You're not a Reds fan. You look for any ounce of negativity and project it onto others and it isn't working. You only ever come around when it is to ***** about the team. Calling Matt McLain fubar and saying Hunter Greene can't pitch, you're the clueless one.

Pack your lunch...no one on here follows the Reds more than I have over the years. Sorry to bust your hype bubble with a dose of reality. If you were a Reds fan, then you would know this story has been played out many times before and it takes more than a few games to get things turned around. You would also know that Bell is awful.

If you can't accept the truth, then move on.

Misery at its finest. Go root for another team if you can't enjoy the process. You'd rather see the team implode just to look right than to ever admit the team is headed in the right direction. Your version of the 'truth' is simply your opinion and not reality. This season is going exactly how it should. A rebuilding team that has shown glimpses of success and far from a finished product. Real Reds fans get that. Just 2 years ago they were above .500 and you were on here spewing the same drivel about firing Bell saying they had no chance at the postseason.
