This is not the game for him. And Rockets have a lot of forwards and go with size.

I do worry, that when i watched Reed out there, I couldn't help but think he looked like some kid from the stands ran on the court to jump in the game. But this was a tough call-up for him and I saw more confidence from him than I expected. Probably helps when Udoka is your coach and not Cal lmao.

I feel like they've gotta let him play through some of the growing pains though. I don't think he's ever gonna be a superstar, but he can be a solid pg and have a long career. I love his confidence.

Dude gets clown suited by a 35 year old Meals on Wheels delivery driver in his only CBB tournament game, and the Rockets GM is like…

“There’s our #3 pick!”

Skinny Fat 6’1 dough bois and the NBA don’t mix… Unless the NBA is trying to mix in some comedy relief during games! 😂

As much as I would love to see Reed flourish (as long as he fixes his relationship here of course if not then I don’t care), I see no way Reed makes it to his second contract. You can clearly see he’s doesn’t fit out there with those guys. I never thought he would personally but thought maybe he turns into something 2-4 years later but I’m starting to really doubt it. He’s simply not NBA caliber.

I really didn’t understand and still don’t understand what the Rockets saw that made them think so. And I have gone back and forth with that opinion, but the positive outlooks by myself were mostly because he played at UK, I admit. But I think by next season he fades out to a degree. Reed as a late first rounder would have been more understandable. I see no defense to taking him top 3. Whoever made that call should probably be fired.

I also feel, and it’s just my opinion, that Reed seemed to change when the NBA talk started and he began to realize what he’d be worth. When I first met Reed before the year his personality seemed very genuine, like a common kid. I met him 4 times while he was at UK, and at the end when it was clear he would be a top pick, he seemed to be more distant and arrogant. Of course, that’s natural I suppose, but Reed was never like that. It makes me wonder if the money will ruin his career early, which can be common in 19 year olds. I’ve thought about this and spoke to several people that know the family. Apparently I’m not the only one who noticed the difference, however, I only bring this up to say I wonder if he’ll handle the contract and be what he could have been had he been a second round pick trying to stick.

His playing time tonight has been inexcusable. 12 minutes through three quarters of play. Just doesn't make any sense with Van Fleet out.
Post didn't age well, huh? He got roasted at the end of the first OT on a drive that basically sent the game in 2OT. Then he turned it over at the end of 2OT with a bad/weak pass to KD to seal it up for the Thunder.

Waiting for the first Reed is a razorback post
Didn’t make anything out of me. This is a feelings thing ?

Ok. I get it now. Thanks.
Anything in life is a feelings thing. What are you defending or what is your point? You like Reed and think fans should support him? You think he’s good at defense? I wanna know lol

I think he’s a 10 year pro and is good at steals and blocks-which are part of defense. But yea. His on ball d has a long way to go.

Feelings. By that I mean it’s my feeling that you (seemingly) and others are very in touch with your feelings and Reed hurt them.
It’s your right to feel hurt.

I’d forgot about it and I didn’t like it, but I managed to forget all about it. It’s ok to be different.

Maybe he wanted to show support to the guy that helped him be set for life and only ever have to play a game to make money. Maybe.

Either way, I don’t care again at the end of this sentence.

You care as much as anybody it seems. I don’t think about it unless it’s a thread about him. I post on about every thread on this here free forum.
If I’m being honest it seems you may have more feeling about it that you lead on.

For instance… thread about Reed Sheppard… me “ oh yea the guy that wore the razorback gear on game day.”

That’s about all the feeling I got for it bubba

He was a major part of the rotation. You mean starting lineup I guess.

I bet he’s a 10 year nba pro easily. Backup at worst.

Sounds like more emotions are really motivating this version of snowlflakes, but to each his own.
He played the majority of his minutes after Thompson fouled out. But yes, meant starting lineup.

I'm not convinced he'll get a guaranteed second contract. He's going to have to improve a lot. If not for VanFleet's injury, he'd be buried on the bend this year too. He's got the opportunity and needs to capitalize on it.

I think the emotions are the folks that are extreme on both sides of "I love Reed" and "Reed sucks". The truth is, Reed wasn't very good and made two pretty big blunders when it mattered. He's gonna need to get better or his role will diminish even more.

How should he repair his relationship with you ? Publicly denounce Calipari ? God forbid he cares about his former coach . And if you've interacted with Reed at all you'd know he's a good kid. Very humble and gracious, if you got anything else maybe try not to be such a creep in the future 😉

So in other words you based your opinion on nothing but still felt compelled to share it?
That’s correct. Actually, I based it on the 125-124 final score, but, I do appreciate you feeling compelled to share your thoughts, on my thoughts, that you think I shouldn’t have felt compelled to share. Makes sense.

Reed is a really talented and humble kid. He’s about as much as you should expect from a son. That’s not the issue. Im speaking about work ethic when 40 million slams in your lap, and there’s a family I know that knows them personally and it was just said that you could tell a change in him when it was clear he was headed to the league as a top pick. Nothing malice or horrible, just likely normal. Like I said who knows what any of our personalities would be like having that happen. The comment was about your drive when you come into money, just wondering if he’s the type to go Kobe Bryant / Jordan or the type to feel accomplished. Because that will be enough to be the difference in All star / 12 year specific role guy or no second contract and out of the league. I’ve got no idea if that’s playing a role or not. For all I know he’s busting it 24/7, I can’t exactly call the guy lol.

Calipari couldn’t give a rats *** about anyone but Calipari. Don’t be gullible. The guy doesn’t actually care, he was busy making 100 million dollars pretending to lol.

And he absolutely should and probably does care about his relationship with the state. He and his parents are ingrained here and have history. I’d assume he realizes this, as he’s already spoken and commented on it that he’s “a Kentucky boy”. Not a scathing apology but yea, I’d imagine Reed doesn’t want to be hated by his biggest supporters. And this is kind of what we do here it’s called a message board where you post opinions. If this is too much for you, I wouldn’t try X.

I think I understand how message boards work. I asked how he would repair his relationship with you and responded how you thought he was arrogant. Love how you always know a person who knows a person in every subject lol

I made a large mistake, lol. I didn't get to watch the game, and was basing my incorrect opinion on the minutes I saw listed on the ESPN app.

Side note, Flagg has looked atrocious tonight as well. And, Wemby might not be human.
