Yesterday there was a thread about someone trying to organize this via twitter and today I see an ad in the Reflector promoting if further. I just don't think this is a good idea. It's just too personal. Let the kid pay tribute to his late mother when he scores without you being a part of it. A lot of us are drunk with excitement right now, but step back for a moment and think about this. While I'm sure many of your hearts are in the right place, it comes across as disingenuous and something we're just doing to "look cool" on national TV.

You don't like it, don't do it. I never understood the need people have to control what everyone else does...
I don't hear him trying to control anyone, just stating his opinion its a bad idea. I have to agree. We have enough to cheer about and ring bells to without trying to mimic a personal tribute Dak performs for his Mom. If he supports it that's fine, but us trying to organize something like this is too Texas A&M like for me.
He's not trying to control, just tying to let Dak keep a personal moment for himself. This whole thing is weird and tasteless. The students are well-intentioned but misguided on this one.
I agree 100%. "Weird"...you hit the nail on the head there. It will make ME feel uncomfortable, so the last thing we need is something that might make Dak feel uncomfortable.
