How can you blame Relf for the loss? His official stats were 8 for 16 for seventy yards. Calculate in the five drops our receivers had and he had a great day. Brandon Henderson flat out dropped a great throw on a corner route that would have converted a third and long. The drops killed us. Our receivers are the problem. We still are very young at that position and it shows.

LSU's QB toasted this Bama team through the air, and Dre Kirkpatrick didn't even play against MSU.
I said several times that Relf had to make plays through the air, but he didn't. We scored 3 points with him at QB, despite starting 2 drives in Bama territory. Thats not getting the job done - end of story.

he`s had to hide the fact that he has no QB and make do with what he`s had. Once more I don`t know a coach in the country that could have done it better. Relf is giving it all he has but that doesn`t change the facts.
Ralph can throw the ball 70 yards...we don't have a WR that beat anybody deep is the problem

My point is if those catches are made then the drives continue and Relf could have had a very productive game. The drops lead to stalled drives and then the game got out of hand. I am by no means a huge Relf fan but I was at the game and he did what he had to do. He even made a few great throws on the run that extended drives. If you are going to use the theory the offense struggled so therefore the QB obviously didn't do what he had to do then I guess you can blame Relf. The O-line was terrible as well and very undisciplined which put us in bad situations.

He's running scared, he's tip toeing, and if he doesn't stop it he's going to get lit up like a Christmas tree. No one on this board can honestly say that you don't hold your breath everytime he drops to pass, no way, no how!! Hell he threw into TRIPLE coverage last night, and he didn't look at anybody else, he had already made that decision before the ball was even snapped.

I mean, let him hand it off, hell let him run up too, but don't put the passing qb in for one 17ing series to throw 3 straight go routes like in the past. He's a gifted qb, Relf is no more then an athlete in the qb position. Last night Relf didn't have a rush over 7-8 yards, so what's the difference in letting Russell rush for 3-4 yards. He can make up for his inefficiency in the run department with his arm, if Koenig would just call any route but a 17ing deep ball when he is in the game. We are one dimensional when Relf is in the game, and I believe that our receivers respond better to Russell, because he throws a much better ball. They still dropped 3 of his passes, but everyone of them was in the bread basket.
I'm not saying TR should start, but he deserves to play just as if Relf were in the game so there is no way to read what we will do when he is in there.

For some reason, Croom offered Relf a scholly & 3 years later Relf is QB of a 7-3 team that is ranked #22.
I get how the fanbase always turns on the starting QB after a bad loss, but once you get an emotional grip by Tuesday, you'll realize Relf is a classic overachiever.
Relf is one tough hombre & if you think MSU would be 7-3 without Relf's running ability, then you don't knowcrap about football.
Also keep in mind Relf seems to be a good guy who doesn't bring a pile of **** to a program like a Cam Newton.

Our lack of a passing game is a liability. No other way to spin it. No I'm not a bench Relf, play Russell guy, just stating the obvious. We're simply playing what is dealt to us right now but to say Relf played well last night is reaching.</p>
Our team will alway be Memphis bound in the post season if we don't start recruiting some guys who are big enough (and willing) to run through a brick wall. It pains me to see our midgets jockeying for the football against guys who have an additional5 inches of wingspan and anywhere form 20 to 45 lbs on them.
