both our post players have double-doubles...Hood is an outstanding Freshman, and Bost has what 13 and 8 tonight?

we will see. I think we might still have one or two. Hood may have the best shot. You can't deny Moultrie has hurt his stock the last few weeks. My info is Sid WON'T be drafted. Bost tried it once. When all is said and done my guess is one of them will hook on with someone for two-three years.

Bottom line: This team was talented to win some big games earlier in the year and it sucks to lose to the crap teams that we have.

And as for Moultrie's production, thanks to our lack of creativity, all the opposing team has to do is play standard, average defense (man with switching screens or God forbid a 2-3 zone) to deny him touches. When he gets a 1-on-1, even if it's not a mismatch, he is rather unstoppable.

Bost will get a shot with someone- definitely a 2nd round pick... Hood will be gone after next season. And hell no, Sidney isnt getting drafted- but I've never seen anybody cost themselves as much money as he has. It's just sad to watch it

He's a first-rounder regardless just because of his measurables, but there's a lot he could continue to learn about key aspects of the post game by coming back. Mainly, he handles double-teams very poorly. He tries to back down against them, which is a no-no because it's usually an instant turnover, and he even has trouble passing out of them.

But his claim to fame is being a great recruiter. Shs was questioning the talent of our players. So if Stansbury can't coach, and has now lost his ability to evaluate talent, then I don't think his dismissal should be all that controversial.

But I still think even players with heart lose patience with a coach who does not seem to grasp offensive basketball.

We lose that game. Period. Our defensive deficiencies and no depth along with USC hitting the open 3's is what allowed this game to where it was. Stansbury's plays and more importantly his players executing them is what won this game on the road with more pressure on these players than they have probably ever experienced. The monkey is off of our backs now. Losing streak is over. Now let's pay back the Pigs.

If that doesn't have the Stansbury Stall written all over it, I don't know what does. We ran some better sets in OT, but we had no business being there.

Doing what got us a lead. They weren't bad looks from 3 land but we didn't hit one. We also had one or two offensive fouls in that stretch. One on Sid and one on Moultrie. There was no stall and really not bad shots. Just missed shots and some bad execution.

Sid and Moultrie with double doubles too. Bryant has great game. Stansbury coaches pretty damn good game and we win by 2 in OT? I will take it because we had to have the W. BUT our defense has got to get better And you know and I know the coaches are coaching them how to play the high screens. We just can't do it consistently. Frusating.

There's no reason to settle for 3s when our big men were that dominant inside. A good look from 3 is never as good as getting the ball in the post, and you'll never convince me otherwise, especially in a drought like that.

With the RSS and Moultrie we should run our offense through the post, not around the 3point line....Period. End of Story... Why don't we?....

Because if we don't run something where they catch it within 3 feet of the basket neither one of them can create his own shot no matter how short the guy guarding them is. They usually turn it over or can't score in 1-on-1 situations if they get the ball further away than point blank.<div>

getting drafted next year unless he improves dramatically over the summer. He is a good freshman. He is not great at any one thing. Teague, Davis, KGilchrist, Pope, Beal, Stokes, and Young are all better freshman than Hood. Again he's a good player but he's not even top 5 freshman in the SEC.

Moultrie is woefully inefficient at creating his own shot, he scores off of offense for the most part (lobs, slice cuts, block to block screens). Sid has been really ineffective scoring unless he gets a touch at point blank range or gets an open jumper. Either one of them putting the ball on the floor rarely ends well.<div>
</div><div>It's typical that you don't realize how they get their points, but your IQ is near the bottom of posters on this board. Just stick to repeating what other people say and you might be ok</div>

Who leads our team in 3point percentage? The RSS... We have two of the best offensive post players in the SEC and the nation, but we are not using them effectively because our coach has no clue on the offensive end of the floor...
Now who is the idiot again?...

Dykes tried to clue dumbasses like yourself in the other night when he said that Moultire needs to have momentum towards the basket or angles created for him in order to score, but it went WAYYYYY over your head, all you can utter is "live and die by the 3 ball" and you have no actual knowledge of basketball.<div>
</div><div>Typical that you don't see that Moultrie gets most of his points off of the cut from the top of the key down low w/ a screen at the elbow into an empty lane, or off of screen and roll action w/ a lob, or off of a block to block screen, or off of the last 2 plays we ran in regulation tonight where Moultire got in good position b/c of screening for Bost, but you wouldn't notice ways of creating shots and positioning for them if you had someone pointing it out to you since you're such an idiot.</div><div>
</div><div>Moultire can't put the ball on the floor consistently without a turnover, hasn't show he can shoot a baby hook, turn around jumper, shield a defender w/ his body, or score over smaller defenders without getting low position due to offense</div><div>
</div><div>Yes, Sid is a good jump shooter when open, but that doesn't mean he's effective in the post when he doesn't catch the ball on or below the block, and he rarely gets position on his own. Just some nuances no one expects idiots to notice.</div><div>
</div><div>You should at least have to have a GED to be able to post</div>

Our problem is coaching, we have the players to win with, but our coach has NO CLUE in the offensive end of the floor... And almost everyone on SPS agrees with me... All our offense consists of is the ball screens you described, that's it.. And guess what teams have figured it out and Stans has nothing else in his playbook.

We hardly ever run the high low with our Big Men, why?? The few times I have seen it run, it worked. You don't need either big men to dribble to run it, it's all about ball movement through passing.. You put either Moultrie or the RSS in the high post and run the offense through it. They can pass it back out to an open perimeter player, pass it down low to the other big man, or pass to a cutting player to the goal. Surely you have heard of this, would you like to hear more??

You are talking to the wrong person to talk intelligent smack, are you going to post your ACT's, SAT's and GPA's next... Seriously.....
So do you want to meet up at the Tin Gym or the Library to continue this??*
They guy who taught me basketball actually has been to a Final Four, unlike your boy Stans...

If Moultrie is defended 1 on 1, he can get to the basket just fine. His weakness is that he only has one move; he always tries to sweep laterally across the paint and lay it in with his opposite hand. If he's double-teamed, he's in trouble, which is one indicator that he might not be as NBA-ready as everyone thinks. If Sidney's head is in the game, he can get to the basket on his own whenever he wants. He can back down and go up and under, and he has a deadly spin move (that's unfortunately prone to phantom travel calls). He also has a much better sense than Moultrie of when he should go in and when he should kick back out. If you think otherwise you're not paying attention.

I'm pretty sure no one taught you anything about baskeball, if so, it doesn't come across on your dumbass posts.<div>
</div><div>You obviously didn't notice that the last 2 plays of regulation were planned, much like the slip screen Moultrie ran at the end of the LSU game when they called the charge, or the "close the door" screen w/ 2 screeners that we run 2 or so times per game. You probably wouldn't know a screen the screener play unless it was in your GED study guide, and your typical "throw it into the post and let them throw it back out" is the extent of your knowledge of basketball.</div><div>
</div><div>We do run a ball screen offense as our base set, which if you've ever noticed is not all that different from what most other teams that we play run. But if you don't notice the slice cut that we run for Moultrie 3-6 times per game (which is not a ball screen) and the block to block screens that we also occasionally run to get our post player low position, then you're either dumb, not perceptive, or just don't really know anything about basketball (likely all 3).</div><div>
</div><div>If you or this board knew "offense" so well you'd describe in detail what they like that another team runs, but all you guys can say is "they have movement." Not they run a 1-4, or have flex sets, triangle, whatever. But you guys have no idea what anyone else runs</div><div>
</div><div>We've run high low sets effectively at times, but mostly against 2-3 zones (1st Auburn meeting), but UGA played a matchup zone (again over your head) that took some of those options away. Sidney passes very well out of the post, but one of the problems is that he nor Moultrie rarely command immediate double teams and get that opportunity. UK immediately doubled both in the 1st half and we got tons of open looks off of it, but in the 2nd half they stopped doubling them and made them go 1-on-1 to score, which never happened (Sid was 1-6 from the floor w/ his make being a 3 pt shot)... If either has to put it on the floor or gets doubled AFTER they've starter their dribble, they turn it over regularly and NEITHER one of them gets good enough initial low position to have a chance to score without putting it on the floor.</div><div>
</div><div>Stans isn't "my boy," he definitely struggles in a lot of aspects, that's no secret. But to say ALL we do is run ball screens is inaccurate and shows you wouldn't know a play if you saw one.</div><div>
</div><div>So yeah, let's meet at the library, you could use some more time in there.</div><div>
