I sure as hell hope I'm wrong, but after reading that article I would still bet on him going to USC.

Does anyone think we have a chance at him? It seems that he is sold on USC, even though he is from Mississippi. I doubt that he turns down USC for us, but I guess crazier things have happened.

we still may have a chinaman's chance.

What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me getting together?
So, when you say not good, do you mean like one out of ten?
I'd say more like one in a million.
So you're telling me there's a chance.... YESSS!!

I really thought Gallon was gonna come here. Hes huge and hes that really physical prescence we need down in the inside. I thought Elgin was gonna be that guy, and I guess he still has time to show that, but I think Gallon would have no doubt been a man down low. I love guys that just impose their will on other people like that, and I think Gallon was that guy. I hope Sidney sees a chance to play center after Jarvis goes because im sure thats what we would use him as with Romero at PF... or phil turner.

Money talks...

We need to sign a Juco Big man or we will be going with 4 guards again and relying on the 3 pointer next year...

Cause I was hoping there was one out there too. The only one of not seems to be Laron Dendy, who was a Clemson commit a couple of years ago but I think he was caught up in one of the diploma mill controversies. Scout has no list for him. Rivals has Arkansas, Florida State and Iowa State. Someone with more time can search a little more for info on him.

prepare for the 5 guard lineup. Seriously, I guess we could stick Elgin down low but that thought is not real comforting.

Sounds like he might be worth a shot. We certainly have the promise of playing time to offer. I also like the three year thing, although I don't like the hurt foot part.

February 11, 2009

Dendy Reappears On Recruiting Scene
By Phil Kornblut

6-10 Laron Dendy, the former Clemson commitment and Greer native who currently attends Indian Hills JC in Iowa, has resurfaced as a major college prospect according to his former AAU coach and mentor Frank Ballenger. Ballenger said Iowa State has offered Dendy and is very interested in him, and Dendy will take an official visit to Ames. He already has been there for games. Ballenger also said USC has contacted Dendy's junior college coach, and Clemson also has checked in on him. He's also drawn the interest of Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Creighton, Florida State and Arizona according to Ballenger. Dendy suffered a stress fracture in November and has missed most of this season, and Ballenger said they are trying to get him a medical redshirt so that he will have three years to play at the next level. "He wants to get close to home," Ballenger said. "He's gotten better. He's picked up some weight. He's 235 pounds now. He's got real good grades, he's just waiting to graduate and get his associates degree." Dendy led Greer to a state championship in his sophomore season averaging 22 points, 11 rebounds and 8 blocks per game. He left Greer before his junior year and moved thru several prep schools before landing in junior college.
