Yep. Thune is a POS also. I'd like to see all of these folks D & R purged from our society.

As much as President Trump has done he could be doing so much more if not for this deadbeat congress. The honest truth is that probably near 50 percent of the repubs in the house and senate are establishment affiliated meaning they get in front of the camera and say they support the MAGA agenda but in reality are resisting also. This is a very disturbing and frustrating predicament. Im sure even if Thune could be persuaded to support dropping the filibuster that he couldnt get 50 votes for it among repubs. Beyond the filibuster issue they havent done anything other than the BBB and thats a fact. They should be rolling out bills like there is no tomorrow up there but instead are doing nothing but running their mouths. I get very irritated even with Fox news also as they will not ask the tough questions to these individuals when interviewed.
They're being treated like **** so they're jumping ship. Hopefully Democrats will flip their seats in the special elections so we can get some real work done.

Republicans in Congress obstructed Donald Trump in his first administration, and they are obstructing him again in his second administration. And that tells you one simple truth. Congress is the protector of the uniparty system. No matter how great the Republican president that you elect, they will always be there to make sure Democrats win and the uniparty survives. Individually they are powerless, but together they are more powerful than the presidency and more powerful than the Supreme Court of the United States.
So here is the dilemma.
How do we elect enough real Republicans in Congress to fix the problem while electing the president at the same time. And how do we make sure those same Republicans do not get corrupted the moment they arrive in Washington DC. It is one of the biggest political challenges we face as a country.
And now we are all seeing the truth.
If you thought that by simply electing Donald Trump all the problems would disappear, you now understand that this is not the case. The man has given us everything. He is the perfect president in intention and in energy and in his fight for this country. And after everything he has gone through they are now forcing him to campaign in the midterms just to save the Republican majority. Think about the insanity of that.
So what does that mean for us.
It means that our fight is never ending, that our enemies are relentless, and that we must be even more relentless. I do not care what happens moving forward, but I know this. Unless we remove the Mitch McConnells, the John Thunes, the Chuck Grassleys, the Rand Pauls, and the Thomas Massies in Congress, nothing will ever change.
If they are in your state, it is your responsibility to remove them. Plain and simple. You know who they are. Stop making excuses for them. There is no moral, principled, or political justification for your senators to be working against a president that you elected. Full stop.
They are betraying us. They have declared war on us, and we must now show them that there is a price to pay.
I agree and disagree at the same time. In Congress you want people who follow the general beliefs that you do. But we don't need or want a bunch of "yes" men or women who just rotely vote the way the president wants. That's not healthy
The representatives are there to represent the will of the people imo. Donald Trump and his viewpoints are supported by over 90 percent of the republican base. Congress has done very little other than the BBB this term so far. They are quietly obstructing Trump.

Agree with this. They are their own branch of government and should start acting like it. Doesn't mean strictly opposing the president. But is isn't just a branch of the executive either, and they need to start legislating and performing oversight.
Look at the usual suspects gumming up the works and see how Trump did in their state. Focus on the senate. There is a number of familiar names going against the will of their voters and this is a fact. UNIPARTY AT WORK.

It's hard not to imagine there is some sort of nationally-coordinated movement within the Republican Party to bring the Trump Administration to a full-stop. The GOP may do what the Democrats have not been able to do - kill the America First agenda in Congress. They lose the midterms and Democrats impeach Trump.

Senate @LeaderJohnThune is obviously not trying to succeed to MAGA - He's just waiting for the midterms to see if the Democrats can impeach Trump and then remove him from office.
The establishment Republicans (otherwise known as RINOs) want their status quo back - They don't really like this real businessman upsetting their plans to make even more money while they are in office coming from their donors (who really tell them how to vote).

You want to dump filibuster for this: Dems will own the Senate at some time in the future, how do they trump this move?
I believe things were better when the filibuster was in force totally.
It pretty much makes nothing big occur. I would rather see plans implemented to see if they work or not and then subsequent changes based on previous results should make things better. The senate Republicans are sticking it to Trump via inaction and the lack of action will be used against them in future elections.
well, I personally have no first hand knowledge of why Thune is doing what he does,. But, in my experience, I have discovered that in Congress , both house and Senate, there is a hesitation to bring something to the floor if it doesn't have the votes to succeed. Both sides have whips whose job it is to count votes. So thune knows where these stand success wise.
The filibuster makes both sides work together, compromise, and while the result might not be the best possible, it's the best that people with sometimes totally opposite viewpoints will support. Historically, there have been plenty of major items of legislation passed when the filibuster was intact.
Seems to me we could do with a little compromise politically right now.
