When we reached October I was expecting this team to go 0-3. I seriously think Purdue will be favored when we play on the road against them at the end of the month.

I'm sure we will win one or two more games, but I seriously don't know where you can look at the schedule and pick out games where we would be clear favorites to win.

I don't see Ohio State winning by the margin they did last year, but they will win by more than 21 points.

That PSU game will be ugly. Late in the season when this team will be wondering if they even make a bowl game.

If we win a game or two, I expect those wins to come against Northwestern and Minnesota.

Northwestern is poor on offense. Minnesota will punch us hard. PSU will destroy us on both sides of the ball - they have more speed this year than last year and they will be playing for a chance to get to Indy.

5-7 is the record I see this team having. 4-8 is not out of the question.

I think we needed the Wisky game to even consider 6-7 win season. Now, 3-9 or 5-7 all possible. tOSU, Penn State, and Iowa will win going away.

Perhaps, I’ll be tuning in hoping to win each week regardless of what happened in previous week. Every team left has good football players, and over paid staffs that will be working 90 hours a week to beat us

We can still get to six.
We need to be very smart in how we approach next week.
We could come out of these two games, likely both double digit losses, stronger than we were going in. No I don't think world beaters, but good enough to beat NW (they suck), Minn (tougher), and Iowa (tougher yet but doable). Throw in Purdue. Gotta find 3 in there and we still could. Use next week to get better.

Um, yeah. Every D1 coach is grossly overpaid for what their role is and the complexity of their responsibilities. Market bears it, but it’s whacked.

They are ball coaches, they aren’t running hospitals, companies that employ thousands, brokering any deals of significance, impacting policy...the list goes on... they coach games played by teenagers and young adults

I imagine by the time we play Penn St ( probably sooner) we will have a new AD in place and Riley will be let go..

Will the players tank it in or play hard after the firing??

1961 Jennings last year 3-6-1 is what could very well happen if we can't beat NW at home and the Gophers on the road this season will be worse.

I think we finish the season 4-2 with losses to OSU and Ped St. I shudder to think about what Barkley will do to this defense. Drinking the koolade baby.

You bring up hospitals.... lol. American healthcare is entirely predicated on driving up revenue and mitigating exposure to liability, actual patient wellness is not a priority, at all.

Yeah and that game brings tens of millions of dollars into the university annually. There is a lot of money at stake and when you have a great coach it's almost impossible to overpay them. Nick Saban is grossly underpaid if anything.

I think you're right. NW and MN can't pound the ball like Wisconsin and their Ds are nowhere near Wisconsin's. I think we can matchup with everybody other than PSU and OSU IF Kalu and Jones can play the rest of the season.

There's no way they finish 4-2.
That's your opinion and you're certainly entitled to it. I guess I still have hope and belief that these guys really start to put stuff together and play some good ball down the stretch. It may sound stupid, but I really did see some good things last night and hope we build on them. We just made bad mistakes against a team you can't make mistakes against. I saw an offensive line that looks like it is getting better and despite the numbers, I saw Lee do some things well and looks like he is learning. He was much more mobile within the pocket and threw some nice balls to guys who couldnt get separation from receivers. Maybe it's a misguided hope, but I have hope.

this division is so weak. maybe the weakest in P5. SEC East might contest that.
NEB will win 3 more games. or they are one of the worst p5 teams in america.
but they will beat the bad teams and go to a bowl.

Northwestern and Minnesota are not good at all. If we lose to either of those teams, Riley should be let go the next day.

Northwestern's game against Wisconsin was very similar to ours. They will present a challenge but if we take care of the ball we should beat them. Same with Iowa. That said a few years ago nobody gave ISU a shot against NU. I kept posting that all it takes is turnovers for them to beat us and lo and behold we turned it over 5 times I think.

I don’t see 3 more wins. I say we lose to Purdue, Ohio State, Penn State and Iowa. I think our only possible, not probable, wins are Northwestern and Minn. 5 - 7 season, no bowl.

Hmm, don’t people still come and spend money...otherwise Lincoln would be a ghost town after the 2 decade title drought.

Not to get into a pissing match, political, or trying to solve healthcare... but the hospital ceo is at the intersection of the private, nonprofit, and public sector...with thousands of employees, needing lobbying, negotiation, labor relations, finance, legal skills. Not to mention responsible for exponentially more revenue, expense, reinvestment, 24-7/365 operation, multi millions in charity care, population health(wellness)—keeping a team in place that saves lives...a tweety weeny more than an athletic department does, let alone a ball coach....from a financial and human stand point. Now this is at bigger place in metro areas, not back water town. Your cynical view of it is insulting to the people I know that do it, and wrong... on motives, financial impact to a community, basically everything. Substitute any company that employees 1000+ employees.

Carry on. They are freaking coaches, that wear sweats and a whistle to work, fed by zealots that pine over how they make them feel a few weeks out of the year....with a fraction of the responsibility of many other professions/executives. And those that feed the beast care little about their most important responsibility....educators and molders of future adults. Good grief

If the team does not quit on MR, they can definitely beat Purdue, NW, Minnesota and Iowa. I don't see how they can compete with PSU and tOSU, although ISU did beat OU so anything is possible.

Purdue will light up this defense. NW has a good QB. Again, tOSU, PSU and Iowa win going away. Nebraska lucky to win 2 more.

This team looks like a pro team with no playoff hopes and no fire. No passion.

Wheels to fall off. Fans have exited stage right.

That may be true, but I’ve watched them all and Purdue, NW, Minnesota and Iowa all have glaring weaknesses that can be exploited. In those games, If the Nebraska team that played at Illinois shows up they should beat those teams.

That is the problem Nebraska isn't any better than those 4 teams.

Purdue already beat Ski-U- Mah and they have the best team to beat NW,Iowa and Nebraska. Iowa doesn't beat themselves very often compare to Riley's Huskers.

I see 1 more win this season. We match up well against Iowa, but they're better than us. Northwestern isn't good, but they match up very well against us, so I think we lose that game. I think our only win will be Minnesota.

ok H8p8898 assume you know the film, but lost the team.

These guys were borderline passionless coming out of the tunnel Sat night, after hearing Wistrom, it didn't even phase them.

The state has gone passionless for football. It will show
