That sounds a bit more "edgy" than his response to a similar question he answered a week or two ago when he was asked about being the #2 QB and his response was something like, "I just keep working hard and doing what's needed for the team".

Clearly he's a young guy who has a lot of patience, but even he might be beginning to close in on his limits.

If Flood is retained and he wants to see the field, you have to figure he at least considers options for transferring to an FCS opportunity. If we do have a new coach, I hope he stays here and is given a real chance to compete for the starting role again.

Kid is gone. No way he is wasting his career sitting behind a guy who lobs the ball on a 10 yard pass.

It's gotten laughable.

I hope he transfers, he is too talented to be playing for that *** hate Kyle Flood. He needs to go somewhere he gets a fair shake.

I hope the QBs of NJ are watching, its clear that playing for Rutgers and Flood is a one way ticket to a ruined career.

All the "experts" wanna tell us that this kid will "never leave Rutgers," again? I'm not saying either way, but, you MIGHT want to change your tune a tad fellas.

You want a kid that can grow. Rettig has the talent. Laviano might be an ok back up. That pass to Patton in the end zone had no zip. He just doesn't have the arm strength.
And this McDaniel plan sucks. You run the same thing, they eventually stop and your next move is ???? Nothing? Once they adjust, you have nothing left? Stupid plan

Rettig says he wants to do what's best for the team, board says "wow what a team player, such a leader, have my babies"
Rettig says no comment and is clearly upset about not playing, board says "wow what a competitor, he is standing up to flood, have my babies"

There is no way he stays if things dont change and i dont blame him one bit. Why would be waste his time here when be isn't being given a fair shot to compete. Laviano is miserable and Flood still wont give the kid a legitimate chance. F that.

“It’s just a matter of when you make the decision,” Flood said. “I decided I wasn’t going to make that decision until the fourth quarter and then in the fourth quarter we got Hayden in there.”

Coach, you can make on the fly decisions. You don't have to think about something in advance and stick to it no matter what.

"Does Flood believe in the theory that swapping quarterbacks can provide a spark?

“That’s like a hypothetical question,” I don’t even know that I answer that question."

What an unintelligent answer. It's not hypothetical meathead. It happens all the time.

Why would you say something like this on a Rutgers board? This doesn't help. The best solution is to replace Flood. He deserves to go. Why deplete our depth at QB when the next coach will give him a fair shake.

I am guessing Flood is behind that. It's such a meathead move that only Flood can be that idiotic.

Let's be real, everyone looks our for their best interest. Fact is Flood has set this program back 5-years. If Rettig wants to play for the NFL, he isn't going to get a fair shot here. What would you do if ou were Rettig, wait and see and hope that Flood gets fired a new coach gives him a fair shot, or look for a place that is proven to treat players fairly. This isn't the first QB he has done this with, Flood is a joke, and needs to get fired. The fact he openly admits that he won't play the best players seals the deal for me. You think NJ recruits aren't watching how he treats his players?

Flood is such a neanderthal, its embarrassing. I'm seriously unsure if he is capable of intelligent or rational thought.

If this guy isnt fired at the end of the year, count on next year being even worse, with a 1/2 full stadium for every home game
