STATEMENT FROM HUGH FREEZE: "After a disheartening and disappointing loss last night to Mississippi State, there were some quotes made by me and Bo Wallace that left the impression that I was too harsh on my evaluation of his play and some things he said sounded as if there is dissension between the two of us. First, I was asked a direct question about Bo's performance and gave what I thought was a legitimate answer. I probably shouldn't have said, in the heat of the moment and in the midst of the discouragement, that the turnovers were totally bad decisions. There was a tipped ball for one, a bad decision on another and a bad throw on one.

Bo and I had a talk this morning and we are on the same page both with his performance and in moving forward and where we are in the building of this program. His last words to me on the phone were that he was going to work his tail off to be the best quarterback in the SEC in our bowl game and next year.

He is as disappointed with last night as I am, but we have to move forward, correct our mistakes and keep climbing. We have a lot of work to do from every angle and we can't get that done dwelling on something we can't change. We will analyze it, fix it and give Rebel Nation everything we have to make sure games like that do not happen again. The game last night is not on Bo. I take full responsibility for the game last night. It is my job to have our players ready to perform at the highest level."

How sweet. But don't worry, Bo said they are going to practice really really really really really hard for the bowl game.

Why does he believe he has to make a statement? A statement was made Thursday by the Bulldog so it doesn't really matter what he and Little Bo Peep had to discuss.

Yeah, here's the problem with making public statements like that...
If they go out and lay another egg in their bowl game (no punt intended) then it makes Freeze look like a super douche instead of the just the general UM garden variety douche for which that statement was confirmation of.

That's just Freeze doing what OM does best: he is getting in the paper talking about his team and hard work.

Even in a loss you control the message. Nothing to see here.

Freeze also threw Bo under the bus in this halftime comments to ESPN. He consistenly blames his players for his bad coaching and/or their lack of talent. This wasn't as spur of the moment one-time thing like Hugh would have you believe.

Hugh just doesn't deal very well with failure or criticism. Name another coach you've seen get into it with his own fans at a home game.

Was it a "miracle" that he responded? It must have been "divine intervention" if he truly felt that way. It is a real shame when coaches don't mean what they say. We should all be more "Christ-like" in our approach to one another. It's Sunday. Don't you agree?

and the team is close to dissension so I need a public statement to say everything's all right.
