I think the team will get better. Not enough data on our team or any other for that matter. I’m glad we won. I’m glad they faced adversity, it will help them going forward. I’m glad our DL got pushed around. What better motivation is there?

I was at 8-4 with a chance to win 9 before last night. My only change was switching Minnesota to a L after our DLs performance.
I’ve always thought that anything over 8 would be icing on the cake. I think our o line gels as the season progresses and RVP gets more snaps on the DL as the season progresses. It’s too early to pass judgement.

I’m sticking with 8. I know I’m in minority but i think the oline will gel and get better. I thought at times they played well against a decent dline. Obviously run D needs work. And have to find a way to push the ball down field. I like what I see out of Hunter. I think he could be a big play guy. Need to get Barney in space as well.

I thought Key was great too. Caught with the ball with such assurance, imo.

I predicted 7-5 or 8-4 during the offseason

I also told everyone here Cincy would give us all we could handle week 1

we looked about as expected, and I'm one who thinks that was a good win

the people chalking up Sparty as an auto-win should rethink that position - tough coach, tough team (opposite of us)

And a mobile quarterback.

I loved Hunter's physicality too. Our top three Wr's might be the best unit on our team. Throw in Johnson and Lindenmeyer and we have a solid group of pass catchers.

Neyor and Banks do not make the TD catch that Hunter pulled in.
Exactly and the control to tap his toe down while maintaining possession. Big time catch there.

i think ur vastly underrating Michigan st and overrating Minnesota even on the road.
Michigan States run games doesn't scare me. Darius Taylor and Fleck will run it down our throats and then kill us with the rpo quick slants, outs and hitches.

Our defense matches up better against MSU compared to Minnesota.

i was at 8-4 with a 3 game melt down ucla, usc, PSU but now leaning 7-5 with a loss to either minn, iowa, or MSU. I suspect that TOP in the big is going to be at a premium and I suspect that DR's limited arm talent gives us a lower ceiling. I love alot of what DR has to offer but elite arm talent isnt one of them.

Impressed by that 10-0 win Minnesota had over Western Michigan?

Most definitely. Complete upgrade from last year.

What's also interesting, and I don't mean to dog Coleman as I'm sure he's a great kid, but 8 different players caught a pass in the Minnesota Gophers game last night and Malachi Coleman wasn't one of them.

Offense needs to figure out how to score 30+ a game by the time conference play rolls around. I’m hoping tackling with the defense will improve but I’m not optimistic about our DL.

When did the narrative start of DR not having arm talent? I find that to be an extremely hawt take. If you want to criticize DR fine, but arm talent is the dudes biggest strength.

The only Qb's with the overall arm talent comparable to DR is Vince Ferragamo and Turner Gill. (I almost put Tanner Lee on this list.)

Zac Taylor and Joe Ganz were really good, but their biggest strengths were not their arm talent.

Just hard to see it if he doesnt throw the ball more than 15 yds down the field.

Fair enough---The sample size and demographics that you are comparing are considerably smaller than the "N" and demographics that I am observing.

You are comparing DR only against former Huskers. He has been marketed to us as "ELITE" arm talent. From what I have seen he does not possess ELITE arm talent---- yet. And look at the mechanics of his deep ball last night --not alot better than TMART.

It's hilarious to me that people would be ok with 8 wins. This is Nebraska, one of the top 8 programs in the history of college football. Anything short of a playoff appearance in year 3 should be termination. We fired coaches with better records and less resources.

During the game the announcers said Dylan Raiola is a generational talent. They are correct but he won't be one at Nebraska. Can you imagine how good that dude would be if he were playing at Ohio St or LSU?

I'm sticking with 6-6.

Raiola can throw a football farther than 90% of all starting NFL QBs. His ability to layer throws over LBs and under safeties in zone coverage is already at a NFL level.

The intangibles is what holds back Raiola. I dont think he is a natural leader. His ability to improvise once the pocket breaks down also needs major work. I will withhold judgement on Raiola being able to beat man coverage until we see if these wrs can create separation. I think Key and Hunter can really help us in this aspect allowing Barney freedom to do work in the slot.

What did anyone see last night to knock his arm talent? We didn’t take any shots down field. He was 3 completions away from tying the school record for completions in a game during his first game as a true sophomore. Like, ok if you want to knock him then fine but back it up. What did you see specifically because there was nothing but great play from him minus one bad decision (that every qb makes)? Not being an *** just wondering what I’m missing. Because he looked great. Did he wow me? Nope. But that’s because the coaches didn’t ask him to do that and therefore he had zero chance to do so
