Rhule needs to call

Is it true that we are still running Satterfield‘s offense, as in Holgerson‘s hasn’t been fully installed?
I’m not sure. I’ve seen that rumor. The offense did not look good this year, especially once we entered conference play. The offense did not take a step forward the way I had hoped and thought they would.

Rhule needs to call the following and inform them they are being dismissed: DC, RB coach, DL coach, OL coach, LB coach, team psychologist, anyone with any role in recruiting, Rhule can not afford to keep those failures around, they aren’t going to magically turn things around.

Not really. When you say Holgerson’s offense you need to realize that Holgerson has varied his offense a lot from year to year to fit his personnel. I’m sure you know that many concepts or plays are common in multiple styles of offenses with variations in how you execute them.

Yes he kept some of Satt’s playbook but he’s put his own spin on how he runs the plays.

I mean, their DC makes close to 2 million a year. I would imagine that going from 2 million to say 4 million, would be life changing money.
You think mattt would pay 4M for a DC or you moving the goalpost from your original post? Get lost nerd

My original post was to call them and offer them more money.

Do I think matt would do that? I don't know, it isn't "his" money.

Jason Eck at New Mexico just went from 5-7 and 40 returning players - least in FBS - to 9-3 and a potential conference title game birth.

Good coaches win immediately. Don’t let anyone tell you different.
I give credit to Fleck, when he started at Minny, he made up this BS "year zero", thing...basically meaning that the first season didn't count. It was brilliant on his end, because he created this weird idea that he was not to blame for anything in that first year.

But like you said, good coaches win games. Period. Rhule is average.

Either we want this team to get better, even if its under Rhule, or we dont.

Who cares if it's 3 coordinators in 4 years, just get better.
So you want a guy with a history of very subpar hires here at Nebraska to continue making hires?

The OC and DC from Indiana. Clearly those asst coaches get it and have it figured out, call and see if they are ready to move on for more money.

Or, just get rid of Rhule and hire one of them!
You can’t win consistently without the “Jimmy and Joe’s” on the o-line and d-lines.

I agree, it doesn’t take 3, 4 or 5 years. Any great year past that is a fluke and won’t be sustained

If you read the last part of his post, he said if they fired Rhule and hired one of them. Any first time head coach is gonna come here for over 50 million.
You stupid too bud- it was “or”hire them as a HC which we shouldn’t do for obvious reasons.

It's either that (maybe Rhule get another Eckler type hire) or keep who we have. Those are our only 2 options right now.

Out of our only 2 options, it sounds like you'd rather we keep the assistants we have.

Oh I’d rather ditch them. I’m just not confident in his ability to get lucky with a guy like Ekeler at either coordinator position, OL, RB, DL, LB, etc.

He needs help in hiring competent assistants. For sure need to drop OL, RB coaches. they’ve had 3 seasons to produce and they haven’t. I am also ok with starting new again at DC and DL

100% a valid concern. But we still have to get new assistants in certain areas whether its the 2nd position coach in 4 years or the 4th position coach in 4 years.

Completely agree, good sir!
Satterfield’s contract expires on New Years Day. Hope that’s one that is replaced.
Barthel’s runs through Feb 2027. He’d need a buyout, but I’m okay with that.
Raiola’s runs through Jan 2027. I’d more than support that buyout.
