Sorry if Germans.

I just stopped by Barns & Nobel and noticed that the Ribbon Boards are up on the East side. A few were on, maybe being tested. I'll check the West side when I leave. Will also try to get some shots with the phone camera.

I also noticed that the banners that hung from the ramps and stadium on the West side were gone. Anyone know the story on this. New one? cleaning the old ones?

The look pretty good on the East Side.

Don't understand why they're going to cover up the "Mississippi State University" on the West side. Seems like they could mount them on the middle deck just as easily.

That "Mississppi State University" will be displayed digitally in the same spot it is now on the west side. Just my guess.

have to wonder about those sky box folks having their flags draped down now, seems like it wouldn't be welcomed now by the administration and someone will have to explain some new rules to some of the big money folks

</div><div>Maybe they were limited as to which level to put them on the East side, and just wanted the West side to match.</div>

We have one the top 5 biggest jumbotrons and you tell me we can't find room to show scores/stats/or anything mildly interesting outside of advertisements and on-the-field play? Auburn's jumbotron is like a quarter the size of ours and it manages to show the live stats and they still give you live score updates fairly often

All that stuff runs off customsoftwareand you have to buy the additional plugins for scores and stuff. The little scores we do show are entered by hand and aren'tnecessarilyin realtime. Sad I know.<div>
</div><div>I have a good source that deals with the jumbotron, so I'll look into the matter a little deeper.</div><div>
</div><div>As for the ribbon board, I expect it is going to function just like it does at the basketball games.</div>

I thought Hank was always reading his scores straight off the TV live and up-to-date.

All other schools that run tickers are fed by some form of StatTracker. We just haven't bought in to it yet. Primarily because making money on advertising is more important to the athletic dept than keeping 55k people informed on football scores 28 hrs out of the year. Frankly, I don't blame them.

We run the best MIS and CS departments in the State of Mississippi. And yet we flounder around on stuff because we need to buy some software? WHY?<div>
</div><div>Given the specs I could easily put something together that would gather the scores and display them in any format they need. And I would be willing to be they have classrooms full of kids would could do it just as easily as I can. Why is it that the only thing we ever ask from our college educated, technically skilled Alumni is money?</div>

at MSU I would have loved to have done a software project that involved the jumbotron. Since I only have 1 semester left it won't happen, but that would be a project I know I would have busted my *** on.
