Not to mention that Relf has over 500 yards rushing and actually has good passing stats (although this is probably a case where stats are deceiving) as opposed to Stanley's ****** stats.</p>

And Relf was left by the previous staff for Mullen. He didn't bring Relf in. He brought in Russell and Favre in back to back years. Nutt brought in Stanley and Cotton in back to back classes, though Stanley and Cotton were a year ahead of Russell and Favre. So far, Mullen has signed one QB in each class. Nutt signed one QB in each of his 3 classes. The difference is, one of ours left, and we didn't have any others from the previous staff for the junior or senior classes.

I just don't see how you can blame Nutt for having a QB up and leave in July. Should he maybe have signed a high school QB in our 2010 class so that we have a true freshman on campus? Maybe so, but given the limited scholarships, they obviously chose to wait until 2011 to bring in another high school QB or QBs.

The catalyst for our situation was Cotton. You can blame our staff if you want, but I have a hard time blaming a coach for not knowing a player was going to leave when that player chose to leave a couple weeks before fall practice starts. That type of choice at a position like QB will leave most teams a little short-handed at the position.

another great point by doa. Not to mention the bastard is WALKING ON and UM was really the only "bcs" school even looking at the guy. Like i said before, it really doesnt bother me...its just the fact that they try to justify it and act like a bunch of kansas city faggots jumping around and such. I was included in the chain mail, the only bulldog, when this thing first started hitting the wire...the email read...Holy Moly We Got Masoli. I felt ***** just reading it.

I replied all and asked if they were competing heavily for the fulmer cup this year and now they just needed to bring pat pat back. Then i get to hear a bunch of the douchebags doing hotty toddy at the top of the hops. Seriously, some of these guys are just plain terrible. The hotty toddy **** at randow places has to be the queerest thing i have ever seen. The worst is on a random night at the beach or at silkys in memphis. Douchebags....

When Big Booster is on the phone with him what do you think he is talking about. That 41- 27 loss to Mississippi State or how well he is representing the University.

there is one lone paragon of virtue left in this world and that is Mississippi State University. Given the same situation I can't fathom that Father Mullen would've ever recruited someone as soiled as Newton Masoli.

If you are really a right wing reb, it must be pissing you off that Huston Nutt is conducting a very liberal social experiment with Masoli.
Yes I am a right winger and what the hell does that have to do with anything? Does Masoli have more pending charges in Oregon? No.Has he served whatever punishment that was given to him? Apparently so.Is he eligibleunder SEC and NCAA rules? Apparently so.DidNutt consult with the rest of the team? Apparently so.Nutt is under contract to the University of Mississippi to WIN FOOTBALL GAMES.While he may be partially at fault for this QB situation, he is also responsible for dealing with it to the best of his ability. If he didn't get Masoli and Stanley got hurt in the 3rd game, the same people would be pointing out what a dumbass he was for not taking a chance on Masoli.I don'tsee doing your job as a liberal/conservative thing but whatever floats your damn boat.

When a player leaves because he's unhappy, do you always say it was the coach's fault for recruiting the player?

I'd understand that reasoning if you were talking about a Ryan Perilloux, where it was obvious the guy had issues before he arrived. This is a much different situation, but keep touting that it's the coach's fault when a player leaves weeks before fall practice starts.

Should he have seen the warning signs on Cotton? Maybe, but I don't think the warning signs started showing up until after spring practice, and what are you going to do then?

Win, recruit, represent the university.... In that order.

Winning patches over failures in the others. Recruiting is more of a result of wins and losses, but it goes further into making sure you get talent that graduates, doesn't get arrested, and leaves your team in a position so that you don't have to go get a mercenary to be your starting qb. Being the face of the University is a lot easier when winning. We don't have to look any farther than our last two coaches to see how to succeed at one while the other can drag you down. Jackie had baggage but won, so all was forgiven. Croom started off as a great representative but lost a lot, so eventually no one gave a damn.

Still, if you don't think someone getting paid 2.6 million has more responsibility than simply winning, I don't know what to tell you. The University of Mississippi=Houston Nutt and his football team. Mississippi State=Dan Mullen and his football team. While the number to the left of the dash cures all, it's not all they are getting paid to do.

That tells me that he only used up 3 years of his eligibility clock before graduating.

He played one year at City College of San Francisco in 2007. He played the 2008 and 2009 seasons at Oregon. It's 2010 this fall, and he'll be at Ole Miss. So yes, he graduated college in 3 years I guess. That's according to a quick wikipedia search. I know, but I think that's accurate.

...I don't want to get this thread locked off of arguing politics, but if as an American conservative you can't recognize the way the University of Mississippi is treating Masoliisliberal coddling at its finest, then I have to question whether you even know what being a right winger even means.

Put it this way: If Masoli was a regular guy, you would be appalled at his criminal record & demand this menace to society be removed from the streets &serve his time in county jail.

But since he can possibly win Ole Miss football games, you're suddenly Nancy Pelosi 2.0.
