(April 3, 2015) - Four members of the 2015 national champion West Virginia University rifle team, as well as coach Jon Hammond, competed at the USA Shooting 2015 Rifle/Pistol Spring Selection, March 29-April 3, in Fort Benning, Georgia.</p><p></p><p>This match served as part two of the selection of USA Shooting teams for World Cup Munich and World Cup USA. January's Rifle Selection match served as part one of the selection process.</p><p></p><p>Senior Thomas Kyanko earned the highest showing of any Mountaineer with sixth place in the men's 50m 3 positions competition with a 4637 total. He shot 1168 in the open relay and 397.2 for seventh in the final on day one and 1159 in today's open relay, adding to his 2303 January score.</p><p></p><p>Sophomore Jean-Pierre Lucas scored an eighth place, 4630 finish in the competition, adding 1153 on day one and 1142 today to his January selection match score of 2335.</p><p></p><p>Junior Michael Bamsey finished 14th with 2332 (1165, 1167), and senior Meelis Kiisk placed 15th with 2316 (1152, 1164).</p><p></p><p>Lucas also finished 13th overall in the men's 50m rifle prone competition with 614.3 on day one and 616.0 on day two, which is added to his 1236.0 showing in January for a 2466.3 aggregate score.</p><p></p><p>In the women's 50m 3 positions match, freshman Elizabeth Gratz placed seventh overall with 2325, shooting 572 and 578 in in this week's matches and 1174 in January.</p><p></p><p>Hammond finished 16th in the men's 50m rifle prone with 1246.9 (625.8, 621.1).</p><p></p><p>For more information on the Mountaineers, follow @WVURifle on Twitter.</p></blockquote><p></p>
