Me and an OM buddy sat in line to get a beer for probably 15 minutes while the 6 people in front of us never got a drink. That was the worst service I've ever seen at a ball game. It's hands down their busiest night of the year and they had one 17in man behind the bar makin drinks for people sitting at tables when there's 10+ people in line wanting a beer that takes 1 minute to pour and ring up. I've never seen service/preparation so ****** in my life.

Parking,etc..

Every year the powers that be continue to botch this game. It took us nearly 40 minutes to get from I-20 to trustmark park and there was not a Pearl policeman anywhere, other than Logan's Roadhouse where there were 2 patrol cars in the parking lot. Lines were ridiculous for everything, including the restrooms. In the past we have done the Central MS Alumni party, but this year their price doubled from previous years. I am told this was because Trustmark Park is basically trying to price them out. I'll never understand how the Braves never seem to make a positive impression, when they have such a great opportunity. Tonight's attendance was actually larger than the Atl Braves drew 2 weeks ago. Another year, another opportunity wasted. With that said, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and traffic was a breeze after all of the fair weather Reb fans had cleared out early!

That's why you take the Flowood exit off 20 and come in the back way. I was in a parking spot in 5 minutes after exiting I-20.

I love the park and I love the fact that they bring these types of games there. But honestly my experiences there have mostly been lousy - mostly because they seem lost as to how to handle decent crowds. Unless something changed this year basically forget about eating at the game unless you want to miss half of the actual game. It shouldn't take 2 innings to get a hot dog, but it always has. Right now with two toddlers it's just not worth the hassle for me.

Any reports of better overall food availability this year?

Same here. I was in and out and back to Hattie in no time. Ive bought and sat in every section available and tonight was by far the best experience at Trustmark. I parked at Bass pro at 4:30, downed some baby coors and watched as the idiots formed the line. At 5oclock, I scanned my ticket, picked out a picnic table in left field, and the rest was history. I watched batting practice for both teams and never missed a beat. If you wanna keep up with the Jones's out in right field, more power to ya but I promise you, I was in the best seat in the house with my 10$ ticket right above the UM bullpen and drank as many beers as I could possibly muster.

Same with me as far as traffic. We got there from Hattie around 530, walked in the back gate and had a picnic table in right field in a couple minutes. Leaving was no problem either. The concessions are my only gripe. That and the fact that the park is named after a bank and there was one 17n ATM at the whole thing.

Guess you were never at a game at Smith-Wills. I'm completely surprised that the Trustmark braintrust doesn't go completely all-out...extra workers, vendors through the stands, etc. for a game they know will have 2-3 times their normal crowd. The people who work there look like they've never seen a crowd over 1,000 before.

There was a thread after the USM game w/ someone defending Trustmark staff about it being opening night, etc. Thats ********, I've never been to a State game there that the concessions weren't horrible. They just don't get it........
