When we went to the Boz Scaggs concert they finished their set, came back for the encore and after a couple of songs he said that we had a treasure in the Riley Center. He said the acoustics were better than any venue they had performed in. They did another song and he said it was a joy performing there. If you’ve never been to a concert at the Riley Center, you’re missing out
I've played the Riley Center. Well, I actually had a speaking engagement there once, but as I tell it, "I played the Riley Center". It just sounds better that way, never mind that on most days I can't tune my radio...If you’ve never been to a concert at the Riley Center, you’re missing out

The Band of Heathens are an American indie rock ’n’ roll band from Austin, Texas. Their most recent album, 2023’s Simple Things, sat at number one on the Americana radio chart for two months. Their version of the song “Hurricane” was certified gold, and their recordings have been streamed close to a billion times. They have made national TV appearances on Austin City Limits and CBS Saturday Morning. Founding members Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist anchor the band as primary singers and guitarists, along with keyboardist Trevor Nealon. The Band of Heathens have remained fiercely independent, turning down record deals and forging their own path with just one simple goal: making great music.

Honestly felt like I was listening to bluesy mid-90's era bar band. But I enjoyed that kind of thing so...
