Thought about this today when I heard he will take the field in preseason game #1 vs the Pats. Chris Carter said in an interview that Cooper will be targeted and retaliated against. I don't think there's anything wrong with him taking hits within the framework of the game. What would happen if a DB or LB takes a kill shot when he is defenseless and injures him? Maybe a concussion or something. Would the NFL approach it as a premeditated hit with malice intent? What would/should happen in that situation?

Full season suspension. I get that the guy will take some hits and I am fine with that but something like an intentional headshot after the whistle or something should be instant one season suspension.

I think it's part of his counseling.

Although I don't think there will be anything voluntary about his attendance at the upcoming sessions.

I just find it pathetic that there is any talk of retaliation because the person doing the retaliation more than likely used that same word 15 times in his pregame warmups or heard it through whatever song he has blasting off his I-pod. If a word is deemed offensive by a person or certain group of people then they should not run around using it or supporting it by listening to songs with that word in it. They should be insisting that it be abolished from the human lexicon. If someone is offended by the word rainbow, then they shouldn't be saying the word rainbow or listening to the Wizard of Oz soundtrack all day.

Harry Potter was the only one who would say Voldemort.

And he effectively removed the fear associated with it because of that.

You get the lock prize of the day for the post we all knew was coming.
