RIP: Dolly Parton

RIP

[TarHeelInCharlotte]

Very sad. My son receives a free book a month because of her. She was a voice for education

Such a wonderful program for kids

RIP

We keep losing the wrong people.

"Hey...how bout a little something for the effort?!??"

[Bigtyrone]

It’s like when Betty White finally died. Everyone thought they would live forever. Universally loved.

And my Uncle Bobby.

[NociHTTP]

And she seemed so healthy.

Not really. She's been sick going back to last year.

Edited: she had cancer going back to last year.

Not funny today. Have some class. Dolly was a national treasure and she is impossible to replace.

RIP, Queen of Country.

R.i.p. Dolly seems like yesterday i was watching her sing on the Porter Wagner show

Dolly was a superstar southern girl who made it big, she will be missed. I remember watching her on the Porter Wagner too. She took Norma Jeans place, RIP sweet Dolly!!!

Welcome newbie.

This thread is straight from the Paddock.

When celebrities move on from this planet, posters used some or all of their names with other famous people, animals, objects, etc.

[TheBlueMist]

Watch her Carson interviews from the 70's and 80's if you want to see her at her best. She was a treasure! RIP

Dolly had a sense of humor and I believe she would enjoy these posts.

Once Liza Minnelli kicks the bucket, we can put this kind of thread to rest. So if you want these threads to end sooner, you know what to do.

Newbie? I've been on Rafters since around 2003. Im well aware of this on The Paddock. That is all irrelevant. Of all people, Dolly deserves a lot more respect.

Since we cant ask her, how about giving it 24 hours before devolving into adolescent humor.

Maybe if they were actually funny. But they rarely ever are. Most just come off as lame attempts to copy a worn out bit.

Not many Americans get the flag lowered to half staff for a week when they pass. That speaks volumes

[Runt#1969]

RIP Dolly. You will never be gone because we will always remember you

[TFCat11]

I still find it hilarious that she entered a Dolly Parton look-a-like contest in LA years ago and lost.

And a dude won

[TFCat11]

And she seemed so healthy.

Turbo cancer

This bit has grown painfully stale.

Not funny to begin with. Some folks need to practice grace.

[TarHeelInCharlotte]

Take a moment and listen to this amazing cover she did of Stairway

[American Dragon]

RIP to one of the last true great Americans. One of the finest examples of mankind to every grace the earth. The world will forever be a worse place without her in it. The # of lives she touched and helped is incalculable. Should be in the discussion for one of the GOAT humans to ever live.

And I'm not even taking her music into consideration, music which I don't even really like in general.

I cried more over this than when my grandpa died last week.

[American Dragon]

And a dude won

Well it was a Dolly Parton Drag Queen lookalike contest so yeah

[rick64]

You know….I think Dolly would laugh at this.
