I'm pretty sure it was a murder suicide. The dog did it and then offed himself. He told them to get Dr Marty dog food. Now they done learned.

German Shepherd in a closet in the bathroom. (door open or closed?)
Wife in the bathroom with open bottle of prescription pills and pills scattered across the counter.
Him in the mudroom with his cane and sunglasses.
Weird.

Listen to the sheriff and he said the dog on locked in the kettle and the bodies have been there a while. I figured the dog died of lack of water.

There were 2 other dogs on the property found alive. Been dead 2 weeks. I heard German shepherd was in a closet. Strange situation. New Mexico. Probly aliens. Probed them too hard. Happens

Sounds like wifey might have OD’ed / died first, then Gene later. Dog probably starved to death.

Interestingly, he was on Nixon's Enemy List
And almost exactly 53 years later, this happens. Coincidence?

For a long period of time...I'd say late 80s to early 2000s...it was impossible to turn on the TV without some channel showing a Gene Hackman movie.

Hate to read this. Great actor.
Yep. Solid A-Lister if there ever was one. One of my all time favorites. First saw him in the French Connection and one of his best movies was Bat-21. Stunning good movie. He has made a ton of great movies. Must be worth a fortune. Him, Clint Eastwood, James Caan, and Morgan Freeman all A-Listers who played many like roles.

To reiterate, really is amazing how good he was in literally everything.

Norman Dale in Hoosiers is just one of the great acting clinics of all time.

But looking over his career, I see The Firm, which I haven't seen in years, but clearly remember how powerful he was in that. Brilliant and evil with a sort of redemption in the end.

The guy was just a legend. And looking at his age, I guess he really didn't become known until he was in his 40's already with The French Connection.
