I don't think Garaiola was a great announcer, but he brings back fond memories of a time when sitting down for The MLB Game of the Week was a big deal.

This Week in Baseball with Mel Allen, followed by Joe and Tony Kubek, made for a lot of great Saturday afternoons.

Yeah, that was back in the day when being on TV really meant something. One baseball game on Saturday afternoon and Monday Night baseball two nights later. Good memories. I always enjoyed Joe and Tony. I think Keith Jackson and Howard Cosell used to do Monday Night Baseball.

I think Al Michaels did MNB with Cosell. Maybe with Jackson too, but not all three together.

Another one of those voices from back in the day that you knew without actually seeing the TV. Always had a great way to describe plays and the game. Color commentary was truly an art to him and it showed.

RIP Joe. I echo what all have said. I brought up his passing at my office yesterday, and nobody under 40 knew who he was.
