I think he peaked in Days of Thunder**

The Judge was a movie he did with Robert Downey that has some intense personal sentimentality for me. My favorite Duvall movie.

Seriously, the greatest living American actor is no more. First Gene Hackman and now this. Pacino, DeNiro, and Freeman are on the clock now.

Seriously, that hollywood whack job has been phoning it in for almost 40 years now. He turned into a caricature of himself. Even more than Jack Nicholson.

Haven't enjoyed a performance of his since Midnight Run. And even before that one, he was pretty much one - maybe two - notes. Couldn't hold Duvall's jock strap.

I grew up watching DeNiro. Taxi Driver was the first of his films I saw. That was a long time ago.
