I’m losing another part of my childhood every few days
One of my favorites from that era. Routine:
Eating lunch turn on WGN. Cubs losing.
Sandberg being a team player and being solid in another loss.
Class.
Prayers for his family.

I was a Giants fan back then but always liked Ryno and Mark Grace. Grace probably could have had 500 more hits if he wasn’t smoking a pack of camels in the dugout.
He was the reason I rocked this avatar for so long. Shouts to yuku. RIP 23, finally free from pain. Thank you for all the memories.
I never was a Cubs fan.
But I was always a Ryne Sandberg fan. Great ballplayer. Played the game the right way.
I will miss hearing him hit a home run followed by "Hey, Hey!" I was unlucky enough to be around during the day when he injured his knee. My father and I went to Wrigley Field and the bleachers, and I got to see Sanberg play. Unfortunately, in that game, he tore his knee sliding into second. It was still a great trip for a lifetime Cub fan.
